Judging from the (quite long) highlights (thanks Pavlik), that was a hell of a match. I still think Dimitrov is just one small step away.

Raonic defeats Tomic 7-6, 7-6.
If Roger gets through Thiem, it will be a repeat of last year final

It's like watching Roger play a taller, younger, less accurate, less talented, less mobile version of himself. Dimitrov's going to be 25 in a few months. Time to either make a move into the Top 10 or resign himself to the Could Have Been group along with Baghdatis, Dolgopolov, Paire, Monfils and Gulbis.

Technically Grigor is better than them all! He truly is a mirror image of his hero and has the exact same technique! His problem is just like most with too much talent; a total head-case! :cover :puzzled :nono  :dodgy:

Top 10 is all I see with Dimitrov - at best. I just don't think he has it between the ears to be #1. I'm not saying he's stupid (although I did give him the side eye when he was dating Sharapova :lolz:) - just not mentally tough enough.

There's nothing wrong with his technique, but like you said - and I just said it as well - he's a headcase. He's one can-of-Pepsi-during-the-match away from being Monfils...only not as speedy...

This kid Thiem can really hit hard sometimes. Usually highlights from a Federer match have 70 to 80% of points won by Federer, even when he loses. This one, was almost 50/50...

Time for Roger to handle Ms. Piggy again.
