Squidgy bum time! A couple of polls show the 'Leave' campaign ahead. In a funny way, this could be the worst thing to happen to the campaign. I have no doubt that the silent majority wants to maintain the status quo, but getting them out to vote is the challenge. Stuff like this will get them voting

Fberg - even if you want in I think you should vote out. You'll end up getting a better deal. I don't think an "out" vote would be the end of it by far... it would be another renegotiation. A UK departure from the EU could cause a massive domino effect that the central powers won't want to entertain.

Interesting article: http://www.theguardian.com/politics...guerrilla-campaign-to-reverse-brexit-decision

I know what you're saying but the risks to global confidence of a potential exit are to scary to contemplate. I'll stick with the status quo

The Stay campaign has been appalling - talk about potentially snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory... good lord. Cameron and Osbourne talking up all these ridiculous armageddon type situations... It's turning people against the campaign... they seem totally false and disingenuous.

Yes I agree they haven't done a good job, but in a funny way I think it will probably work out ok for them. In my opinion there is a silent majority in favour of the status quo. The higher the probability of an exit vote the more energised these voters are likely to be. By the way, the 'Leave' campaign haven't exactly been truthful!

Big debate I believe tonight... Cameron v Farage.

Not sure if that will work out well for Cameron.

Just watched the Brexit debate with Cameron and Farage... not quite what I was expecting... I thought it was going to be a Head to Head rather than isolated questioning. Fairly decent performance by both... Cameron did better than I expected, but he's always been a smooth operator.

I'll have to see if I can watch it. Not surprised by Cameron. He's always been good at stuff like that

Was reading about James Dyson calling for Brexit and thencame across this gem:

Even England football fans weighed in on the Brexit debate last night during clashes with riot police in Marseilles ahead of the country’s opening Euro 2016 game this evening. In what might be a pithy reflection of public opinion, fans sang: “Fuck off Europe, we’re all voting out.”

They also sang anti-IRA and anti-German songs before singing: “Sit down if you hate the French.”

Made me laugh...

Haha! Bunch of nutters. But on a more serious note. Given the risk of terrorism these idiots are creating a problem that isn't necessary

One thing for sure is, Osbourne is f**cked... the emergency Brexit budget is a stunt too far... and will probably be voted down in any scenario... his political ambitions are now toast.

This is wreaking a bit of havoc on the US markets lately. That'd be one huge event if it goes through and most European economies aren't exactly booming either.

Brexit vote getting very close to call from what I'm hearing @Federberg... virtually a 50/50... thoughts?

Sorry I missed this.. Actually I'm still thinking it's going to end up a comfortable remain. Pollsters in the UK have credibility issues after the general election. Not sure they've done anything to warrant the confidence the markets are giving them. Talking to people it's hard to see this amazing clamour to leave to be honest. My sense is that these polls, accurate or not, will just energise the silent majority that are perfectly happy with the status quo to just go out and actually vote.

on the plus side I can't see Yellen hiking in front of this vote. Not now the polls are telling us Brexit might well happen

Yep, she didn't hike, that old ugly dove B-)

The Feds have been walking a tightrope most of this year. Eventually the sh*t is going to hit the fan in the form of another nasty correction or worse. Probably later this year and the elections may not help matters.
