^ Be nice. Not all the Stella clothes are rags. Some of them have been cute.

^ agree to disagree about Stella. :) I dont remember liking any design she made for Caro and Caro herself is a good looking girl. Her last design for USO 14 is the worst I have seen :D

Simo is drained and needs a vacation asap. I can even see her losing to someone in form here!
Her manager Ruzici said that she needs a vacation and she plays only because its an emotional tournament. The first WTA event in Romania in front of her fans. She couldnt disappoint them and not show up.
She just plays by the motions. I wont be mad if she is not winning this. She is only human. Btw, she won R2.

IMO, these are Caro's best Stella designs:

To be honest there is not much tennis to talk about in this event. Its great for the locals but the level is not that high.
I hope they switch it to April-May before Madrid.
So back to the most interesting thing about this event which is, what will Simo wear in next match after wearing scarlet and black? :D She doesnt have more options because Adidas made this cool design in 3 colours only. White, Black or Scarlet? I can make a poll about that but I dont want to make you mad, so I wont ;)

Instead you could write about tennis in Romania. Why is this tournament important to tennisplayers there? How are amateurs trained - is it only rich kids who is able to play? It's a nice stadium by the way - was it a state project. So you see a lot can be said about tennis. But she looks nice in the wine colored dress (or whatever color it is).

The stadium will become bigger next year with government funds. At least 500 people couldnt get into Simona R1 match. Only 4k could get in.
I think she could fill in a 10k stadium with no problem but people knew that there are no tickets.

Oh you Monica! :D All Romanian semi final on the First time its held there!
She said twice that she would have never won it without the public support.
I am sure she is right. The location gives her all the strength.
There was a 15 years kid (judging by his voice) shouting her name after each point (not game) and adding 'Hai Romania' now and then. That "silly little thing" made the difference I tell you. It blocked her mind from negative thoughts and kept her in the right place. She was fighting for every ball. Its so important in sports, sometimes more than the ability itself.

Btw, Simona havent won yet so maybe not an all romanian SF. I am still happy for Moni whatever happens to Simo.

Simona the lady in pink wins. Different colour for each match. Adidas got it right with this design.
First match that "new Simona" will play against a Romanian in last 2 years. She may let Monica win because Monica needs it more. :D

After match interview:
Q: "Do you call yourself a humble person?"
A: "I cant say such thing about myself, others should judge, not me".
Q: "Is that true that people from other domains of life outside sports are coming to see you?"
A: "I dont know, maybe..."

And so it goes, bigger than tennis... a life icon on the making for a whole country and not just in tennis.
She is already in the role models department. :)

The question is a Catch-22: if you say yes, you really can't be considered humble. But if you say no, then you're not, either.

Regardless, she answered it perfectly.

I definitely want a Halep/Vinci match for the finals. it looks like it'll happen too.
Monica will not beat Simona and Roberta will probably school the Slovak.
The important part is, there will be a Romanian in the final.

Roberta Vinci took her 7-17 singles record into Romania and has added 4 more wins. Vinci made the finals. She won today 1 and 3
I guess that doubles crown at Wimby helped her boost.

Simona and Monica are even at 1 set a piece. The Romanian crowd is delighted.

Simo had to raise her level after 2nd set. At 0-0 in 3rd set I predicted a bagel because it was obvious that Simo will take it more seriously. It was just a bread stick at the end ;)

After match interview she said she is "very tired" and she plays only because its her fans.
One thing is clear from this tournament. She found at last a suitable addidas design that makes her look good in 3 different colors. Sorry hoergren ;)

3 weeks rest after tomorrow. I dont believe she will stop Sorana from beating Genie in Montreal ;)
Simo wont play there. Too tired, 2 weeks rest are not enough.
