I am surprised Halep is playing in this event, considering she picked up a ankle injury in the s/final at Wimbledon. To me she should have had time off to rest and get her body healthy for the up coming HC season.

Really bad idea for her to be playing here. Just ask Vika what coming back too soon can do to an injury.

She should go to the tournament make a lot of appearances do a lot of press and pull out. Health is more important.

Nice of you people to show interest in this low key event 1 day after Wimby.
The players level this year is much higher than its 2013 parallel in Budapest.
Simo said she plans to play again on Wednesday and she values very much her home fans. She said that coming back from grass to clay is harder than going from clay to grass.
Someone will be missing though.. She just cant bare the feeling of being a second fiddle to Simo and she plans on snatching the Montreal title from Genie ;)
Oh Sorana, what went wrong?

My current rankings of Romanian players ability:
Simo, Begu, Monica, Sorana, Dulgheru, Kadantu.
The most dramatically improved player is Irina Begu who jumped from around 120 to 68 in the last 3 months. She will be top 50 soon if she keeps this level. She is solid when she is in form and healthy.

Yesss. I just made my first reasonable and logical post since Wimby started. I am proud of myself ;)
Back to pizza and beer, enough with that strawberry cream thing

Sorana is just having a terrible year, I hope she gets it together and bounces back strong into the hard court season.

Simona declares herself healthy for Wednesday match and says she has no health problems. :)
The organizers arranged a little revenge match in R1 against Mladenovic who dared to beat her on the Paris carpet on February. We dont forget ;)

Simo already played her hardest match yesterday, Check this out. Everyone holds a racket :)

I am pleased to hear she is healthy, even though this is her home tournament etc,I felt that she needed some TLC and time off.

Monica Niculesko revenges her doubles partner Kookie by bageling her 6-3 6-0 in R1 ;)
Kookie hit her in the head with a mighty serve in the Wimby doubles, see my other thread.

Looks like they arent that friendly anymore, a cold hand shake. I expected a hug between two doubles partners who won a title and had success together. :( They dont play doubles here. Maybe that hit had its effect. who knows

I guess its a physical thing. Monica doesnt trust her anymore not to hit her in the head with her serve :D and she cant relax and focus on the match itself. She is with her back to the serve and gets nervous. Just using my imagination  Shame, they were a good double.

Completely agree. They should understand what's more important.

A Romanian TV station which can be found on a streaming site called Dracula (well, close enough). That's funny.
