The wind is a great leveler in tennis, you must keep moving especially when the temperature drops

Iga's bhand down the line has been 'stead fast' in this match
Mirra's bhand has also been 'on song; in this match

Iga never looks comfortable at the net, Fissette needs to improve her net play, as many players take advantage of her lack of net play
Iga stopped and went to the umpire complaining about the ball kids? not getting much love from the crowd and rightfully so!

The Teen Queen has raised her level and Iga getting more anxious by the minute, Mirra going for all of her shots and making them

Hello slice bhand from Mirra and now up a double break against Iga, who I cant see getting out of this mess
Mirra will serve at 4-1 and is in control
Iga breaks to love and gets 1 break back 2-4
Use the kick serve Iga with the wind behind your back, she used it lol!
Mirra leads 4-3 3rd set.

Mirra is using the slice so well in this 3rd set, props up her bhand or fhand shot for a winner

Got to hand it to Mirra after the 2nd set, she re set her game stopped pushing her shots, using the slice to her advantage, more shape on the ball

Goodness me she has done it again! gets the better of Iga again in 2025
Well done Mirra
Andreeva d Swaitek 67(1) 61 63, that is 11 consecutive wins for the 17 year old
Mirra re set her game in the 3rd set, stopped pushing her shots, using the slice to her advantage and believed in herself
Iga on the other hand became quite anxious in the 3rd set, after winning the 2nd set 61

Mirra joins just 3 other younger players who have defeated a Top 2 player at IW prior to turning 18, Monica Seles, Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams

I have a chance to catch my breath after the wonderful win from Mirra in the 1st SF
The 2nd SF is underway a rematch of the AO final with Sabalenka v Keys

Well in just 24 minutes Saba wins the 1st set 60 making a 'huge statement'
Didnt give Madison anytime to get into any rhythm at all
Lets see how Madison responds in the 2nd set
BTW I have been most critical of Saba since the AO, her serve went AWOL and reminding me of the time a few years ago when she had the most UFE on her serve in the WTA, she hired a bio mechanic specialist to improve the serve, which she did, then all of a sudden she retreated into her bad ways, it has somewhat improved over the last couple of months.she still goes to get help from the bio mechanic specialist.

This match is just slipping away from Madison now, I was most impressed how she dismissed Bencic in 2 easy sets in her previous match, today she is a shadow of her former self, she played well in the wind as well.
Sabalenka leading 4-0 and won the 1st set 60
Saba charging into the final just one game away and leading 5-0, this is the Saba I like to see, controlled aggression on both wings, coming into the net and finishing the point off where possible
I feel it is one of those bad days at the office from Madison, Saba has not let her get into the match from the start.
In 51 minutes Sabalenka d Keys 60 61, it was a Clinical Display! she goes to the final the only player not to drop a set
Not your day Madison, still a solid tournament for you reaching the SF at IW

Mira Andreeva on defeating Iga Swaitek,
" Oh my God.After she killed me in the 2nd set I was just like ok, I'll try to fight. She was playing amazing tennis.I kind of decided to grind and fight for every point in the end it was not too bad".
Mirra has been working with a sports psychologist since the AO this year
