Coco should be disappointed in her efforts today's match.
Coco hasnt got the weapons, her serve is not good enough, and she was making too many UFE, Saba's has too much power off both wings, of course when it is controlled lol! Saba is also good at the net, she is a good doubles player as well. Saba is 16-1 so far in 2023

I hope Sakkari v Kvitova isnt a 'headcase match' not like Kvitova's v Pegula match was yesterday, maybe I should take some pills just in case:)

But we have to consider that this is the 3rd day in a row that Coco played. She was lethargic yesterday, so she may have been running on fumes today and had nothing left in the tank.

Aryna Sabalenka was asked what's different in her game compared to last season?

" I am calmer on court and I am able to control my emotions. That helps me to stay in the game no matter what and fight for every point without losing my mind or giving my opponent easy points".

Coco may have played doubles, but it was only her 2nd back to back singles match.

If playing doubles exhausts her that much, maybe she should take that into effect for future scheduling.

Sakkari won the 2nd set 75 I thought it was headed for a TB.
Petr3 will have to turn up now if she is to make her first SF at age 33 in IW.......( thanks Petra I have an nail appointment you could have dont it in 2 just saying) also that was a tough set to lose, seeing you had the break, were up in a service game, to fold easily.

Just tuning in to see Maria in control in the 3rd. I do hope she wins this...she needs it.

Also I wish people would give credit where it is due?
Coco had no answer for Saba today, it was a different Saba she played last time they met, I could not watch Saba last year, I remembering telling Kskate, she does my head in, and dosent understand how to play percentage tennis, I even threatened AF she would not be on my Christmas list, if Saba she got to a final and won. To her credit she hired a 'Bio Mechanic Specialist for her serve, she also got rid of her sports phycologist and went it alone at the start of the year, and she won the AO.
Coco has to be able to 'absorb big hitters' for starters, instead of just hitting the ball back, and into their wheel house, she was frustrated today in the 2nd set she had no answers, that has nothing to do with playing doubles, or her match yesterday where she was lucky to win against a Qualifer? yes I have said many times Coco dosent need to play doubles in every tournament that goes with Jess as well.
Coco needs to mix it up against Big Hitters, take a leaf out of Ash Barty's book, use the slice as a defence or offense, use spin, etc, you have to be able to 'absorb' this is a good way to do that., use angles as well, anything and everything to disrupt their power play.
