The wind conditions in IW today are not good, the wind apparently will pick up just in time for the men's final.

I'm thinking that, unless he's been told that he'd really risk further injury if he plays, that he'll tape up and give it a go.

Yeah that sucks for Fritz, I have a feeling that he won't play... Meanwhile I haven't seen Rafa's press conference, did he mention the chest pain he had in the 3rd set, he even got some sort of a treatment/massage... But he seemed fine afterwards...

Also, as @Jelenafan pointed out, which I hadn't quite pegged, is that it's Fritz's first MS1000 final. In Cali, his home. I can't imagine he won't try, barring the worst news.

That was some kind of strain around the pec area, it seemed. Someone said above likely due to constant adjusting to the windy conditions. Didn't really seem to bother him, even at the end of the match yesterday.

No it was more about having to play in windy conditions and how you make more ufe than normal, trying to adjust.

I am curious to see on how Nadal will play Fritz in the first couple of games once he sees him compromised a little bit. Also, the wind will be a factor again.

He's ruthless as a competitor, plus, even in normal times he likes to run opponents around.

Rafa has just finished his practice session before the final,he looked well, moving well,.Plenty of fans in the stand to watch him, signed a few autographs and went on his smiling way.

Considering the men's is meant to start in 10 minutes, I guess Taylor is ready to go.

They just said he had a 20-25 minute hit a bit later, and he'll play.
