Yes, I've never understood why fans get upset with it, it's within the rules. It's not disrespecting your opponent, it's throwing in a change of pace, just like a pitcher in baseball would. Plus I want MORE players to try to hit their opponents at net if they have a gimmee smash, ala Lendl...again it's legal! heheheheheheh.....

In doubles, it's expected to hit your opponent. Tennis has to get a little bit over itself about what is "sporting."

its just a change of speed serve .. its legal and its a good way to get your opponent to think about changing their return of service positioning
