I'm rooting for Andy over Grigor today. I think for two reasons, one being that Andy has sharpened his quill to face the end of the year with great results, and Grigor has gone AWOL since Wimbo, which is inexplicable and bitterly disappointing. But I wonder if Murray will start to show the effects of his recent escapades, and if Grigor will suddenly perk up and live to lose another day. It's the most interesting of today's matches.

Grigor is irritating me, so I choose to root against him. What did I expect? More than he's shown...

See, I don't have a "second favourite player" so once Rafa is out of the mix, I'm up for grabs. If Federer plays Novak, I hope they both lose. If Murray plays either, I tend to root for Andy. But I spend about zilch of my waking hours thinking about Andy Murray.

I liked Grigor earlier in the year but I'm becoming less impressed by him the more I inspect him. Maybe he needs his coach to drill it into him: the Big Boys don't hang around, the future is now. Or maybe I just over-rated him to start with, in which case I'll never forgive him. :snigger

He may grow to be a great player, as myself and the Dude discussed recently, a winner of a few majors, but not as he is now. The promise he showed in the first 6 months of the season hasn't borne fruit since Wimbo....

I hear you regarding a second fav player,I mean who can take the place of our 'boy'....

In regards to one half of the 'power couple' aka Grigor,I cant warm to him at all,please I am over one handed bhands period.To me he still has a long way to go.By the way there are rumors that Roger Rasheed will be given the 'flick' as his coach.Grigor has already stolen Roger's physio..maybe he is looking at Edberg next to coach him.....

Stan is making Berdy's task easier, by struggling against Kevin. Just checked, Berdy is 11-0 in the H2H with Anderson, but has lost 7 of the last 9, including the previous 4 matches, against Stanley Wow!...

I checked up on the court surface.

Basel and WTF use the exact same turf and they are quoted as "medium" speed surface.

However, the surface at Bercy is different than those, but gets a "medium-fast" rating.

The surface at Bercy has been tinkered with over the years many times. The year Roger won it was one of the fastest by the way...

The source from where I got the info must be outdated. Clearly, Bercy appears slower.
