That was a lose-lose no matter which guy won -- even the announcers several times described it as "not exactly riveting tennis" -- but congrats to Raonic.

Now, bring on tennis which will be enjoyable.

I certainly enjoy it! It is a Nole special;)

Was Nishikori the last player to beat Nole indoors? Actually it must be somebody at the WTF that year.

It was Sam Querrey in Paris 2012, right.

Nice backhand cc winner from Nole, nobody does it better than him. It's hard for me to tell which one I like better: the stretched out cc BH or FH winner.:D

Up and down from both players, some nice winners from both, but also some bad misses. Nole keep your eyes on the prize, concentrate please. Nishikori might have more success on Nole's service games than his here in the 2nd set. One more break point to be saved. Let's go.

Time violation for Nole, well hurry up Nole! Leave it be, you are winning.:puzzled

That was a definitive win against the pesky little fella. Novak continues to give himself more breathing room in the year end #1 race.

I can't say I'm too disappointed in the result. Andy is needing the rest. I don't see anybody beating Novak.

I am sad to see Ferrer not make the WTF. I had to root for FEDERER today and he let me down. He had ONE blooming job to do. I wasn't thinking for a second that he would lose.

Raonic is going to bore me to tears.

Hey Iona,
You do not see a whole lot of athleticism when you go to a MIlos match, but when he unleashes a 240km serve, the sound of the ball coming off the racket, and the sound it makes when it hits the back drop...there is always a collective gasp from the audience. It is fun actually. You want more...That power never translates properly on TV. You will have some fun, I hope.:)

I've never seen Nishikori or Raonic live. I've seen all the other players that will be at the WTF. There is nothing like seeing Murray, Djokovic and Federer live. No point mentioning Nadal as he won't be there. :( When you see those guys you're just astounded by their speed, athleticism and shot-making. You think you know how quick Andy and Novak are when you see them on TV and then you see them live and your jaw drops. I can appreciate that the Raonic serve will be impressive live - just as it is on TV BUT I don't see what else there is to get excited about. I'm looking forward to seeing Nishikori - would have preferred Ferrer though.

My boy will be there and that was all I cared about 6 weeks ago. :) I can't wait.
