No moral victories but Murray is playing a lot better than earlier this year. This surface is a dream for Novak, I'd be surprised if he isn't holding the trophy on Sunday.

mr 142mph has blitzed fedster in straights..yikes, raonics groundstrokes have improved as well though.

federers quest for 3 masters titles in a row @33yrs old ends..but still wtf/dc to look forward to.

THIS^

Milos was money when it counted today--both on serve and with the groundies. I am here to tell you that if he hits his groundies that well and serves that well, very few are going to be able to hang with him. He avoided set point with a passing shot in the second set, after winning the tiebreak with an ace in the first. He hit passing shots to break Roger and to win the match. He rallied better than expected and flat out won today! Congrats to Milos, I say. Unexpected? Yes, but, he earned the victory--Fed did not UFE this one away.

He did really well. I suspect that the pace of the court was a factor. I think a faster court and his movement would have been put under more pressure

Main problem for Roger was his own serve. He got up a minibreak in the 1st TB and then had to hit two 2nd serves, Milos played good points to his credit but with how Roger has been playing TB's his serve is usually better. Same deal in the final game, a couple 2nds, and a surprisingly weak 1st serve and Milos broke him.

This stuff is painfully slow, what'd they do to get the court like this?

They really have to start speeding courts up a bit. This is going too far. Let's have some more variety!

Think about what the boom-boom fest between Rodger and Raonic would look like on a faster service... yikes.

Unfortunately with Nole and Murray out there, it makes the clay look fast. :nono

I actually think a faster surface against Milos would play into Roger's hands. More pace of his groundies and Milos isn't going to be comfortable at all. I think this was the perfect surface for Milos to play Roger. As someone said, this surface is an absolute dream for Novak

Game on if Andy can find his serving rhythm

What serving rhythm would that be? Without a doubt, Murray has the weakest 2nd serve of all the top players! It's been consistently weak for as long as I can remember! :cover :nono :puzzled :s That spinner into the bottom of the net is all you need to see to understand where I'm coming from!

As to the speed of the court, I must say that watching these rallies between Nole and Andy seems to shore up the argument that the speed is slow for hard court. I wish the court were faster, as it makes the shots more dramatic and the issue of going for it becomes more calculated. Some of these rallies seem to be just to keep it going. At any rate, I guess it does bode well for Nole.

Second serve is rubbish yeah, but first serve has been very effective in the last couple of weeks, can't emulate yesterday's high first serve percentage here it seems.

Lights out, don't know where those two shocking service games came from.

:laydownlaughing - Like the commentators referenced; "where's the rivalry?" If Nole's won 7 of 8 and not even dropping a set the last couple, why use that moniker? Same for Rafa and Roger I guess? :nono

Murray figures he's made it to the YEC's after a long arduous run... why kill himself here.

Nole moves on.

Bueno. Increasing the gap with Federer by 180 points.

Now on to the main course for tonight: Kei vs Ferrer.
