^ Losing to a barely top ten player who ONLY has a serve is. He did get broken after all. Well now it is in other player's hands. Roger could still salvage the year by winning the YEC too.

He has a very good inside out forehand. The rest is not that great indeed.

Common now, be objective. He has a very good volley too.

Sure, it's your day ;) It's good, not sure if it's very good, but I'll gladly concede for now.

OK, I will not argue. But do not say he has only a serve and a FH. He has had BH winners, Volley winners, as well today..I will always recognize that he has still many weak points in his game, but he has improved a lot this year and I am sure his development is still far from over.

Now, this is a must win match for Ferrer.

If Ferrer loses to Kei, the race is over. Kei and Milos will officially qualify.

I'm not sure about the #'s. I thought Fed had to get far in both tournaments to clinch it.

If Novak wins the tournament there is pretty much no chance, as in Fed would have to win YEC and Nole can't qualify for the semis. Even if Nole only reaches the Paris finals I think he would only have to reach YEC finals to secure the #1 now
So he needs some help from Andy/Kei to still have a chance?

To have a realistic one. He won't be eliminated from #1 contention even if Nole wins the tournament but what are the chances Nole won't qualify for the semis of YEC?

I'm really not bothered. I would rather he just focusses and wins the YEC. If he gets no 1 great! But for me number of titles is what I want him to target. When I saw how slow Bercy is, I really just wrote this one off. I would rather he goes out here, than concede ground in the h2h with Novak!

YEC title and DC, and I'm happy with his year

^ I'd rather Nole attend to titles over status at #1! It normally takes care of itself anyway! I just want him to complete the circle and take at least 1 French Open and Cinn. Masters! He'll have a HOF career and the most complete of all players if he succeeds in doing that! He'll be far behind others in majors, but still quite impressive!

Rather he loses to novak then that cheating serve mongrel any day. And losing in the final still would have given him a lot of chances for number 1. Now it is in murray/Kei's hands to give him a reasonable chance.

YEC is a big deal and would be a great accomplishment to extend his record and win it at such an old age. Short of that I stand by what I said before...he played great much of the year, put himself in position to do amazing things time and again but results wise it is a lost/poor year without YEC. Either way it could be a building block of sorts and lead to a great 2015. That's my hope

As long as Novak loses in today or tomorrow, it would still be realistic to think about #1.

But even if Novak reaches finals, whether he wins or not, it is no longer realistic.

This stuff is painfully slow, what'd they do to get the court like this?

I think he was waiting on the call and when it didn't come, he challenged it.

mr 142mph has blitzed fedster in straights..yikes, raonics groundstrokes have improved as well though.

federers quest for 3 masters titles in a row @33yrs old ends..but still wtf/dc to look forward to.

THIS^

Milos was money when it counted today--both on serve and with the groundies. I am here to tell you that if he hits his groundies that well and serves that well, very few are going to be able to hang with him. He avoided set point with a passing shot in the second set, after winning the tiebreak with an ace in the first. He hit passing shots to break Roger and to win the match. He rallied better than expected and flat out won today! Congrats to Milos, I say. Unexpected? Yes, but, he earned the victory--Fed did not UFE this one away.

They really have to start speeding courts up a bit. This is going too far. Let's have some more variety!

He did really well. I suspect that the pace of the court was a factor. I think a faster court and his movement would have been put under more pressure
