Mono has nothing to do with appendicitis. Rafa has appendicitis, but my point was, he most likely isn't on anti-biotics this week. They're suppressants and his immune system would be badly affected, but if he's off them, then not so much. I'm glad to see the guy is actually getting some games in, obviously enjoying himself, but so far he hasn't faced anybody that would scare a head of lettuce into mishaps...

Going by what Nadal's camp said he's not on antibiotics right now as it was only meant to be for a few days but yeah, the opponents are the real reason for the scorelines.

I think chances are Rafa isn't experiencing a lot of discomfort right now. Conditions like appendicitis can be relatively quiet for a time, especially after being treated with antibiotics. If Rafa was in significant discomfort, he wouldn't be playing.

It seems predictable that you're going to find people use it as an excuse for if and when he loses, but that's par for the course.

I think he's starting to make sense (Rafa, not Cough Drop). Sooner he calls time on this lousy season and gets the op out of the way, the better chance he has of making a stronger start next year...
