Rafa's playing a 17 year old? That didn't work out too well the last time... :popcorn

Oh yeah, that's right! I got carried away. But this kid seems to be advanced, it's going to be a great experience for him facing Rafa...

Fed finally wins it.

The QF is going to be tough independent of whether it is against Grigor or Vasek.

Fed's bp conversion today is 2/12. That needs to improve. Also, he needs to cut down
the UFE.

Istomin can play at times. I actually expect it to be a bit easier tomorrow though Grigor could surprise.

This is the first time I'm getting to see Andrew Garfield play more than a few points, but I'm enjoying it.

I'm curious about how his game looks. Is he a shotmaker? It's exciting to see some kids coming up who could potentially carry the game once the big four is gone.

yeh he goes for winners..speed, defence, volleying, serve . backhand down the line..the freaking lot..

say hello the a future world no 1 rank player.

Wow I have to see this guy play. I hadn't heard of him or Zverev before this week but they both seem to have a lot of potential.

yes..:)both are 17yrs old. coric is 18 in 3wks, zverev won't be 18 until april2015..coric world rank has zoomed up from 900ish at end 2012, upto 300ish at end 2013 and now rank 122, coric looking to finish 2014 ranked top 106(I think?) to get into main draw direct at aussie open.

zverev burst onto scene in july on hamburg clay atp500, reaching sf before being hammered 6-1, 6-2 (?) by ferrer.

Yes, Grigor it is for QF.

Father and son have played each other just once before, last year in exactly the same tourney
at exactly the same round with Dad winning in two sets one of which went to TB.

Federer vs. Dimitrov - this should be a great match. I might get up early to watch it, actually. I love both of these guys' styles, and they both seem to be in good form.

Well, isn't this a bigger test for Grigor than it is for Federer? I expect a similar score to last year, but I see no reason why Grigor shouldn't be getting wins against the Big 3 by now. He's a strong young buck facing an old man who went to 3 sets yesterday. He ought to be able to make this distinctly difficult for Federer, both physically and mentally.

However, he won't. I'm expecting him to defer, and go down in straights.

Baby Fed v Daddy takes place after Baby Rafa v Daddy. Coric looks like he's lapping up the experience, and he's a strong lad who'll relish this version of appendicitis indoor Ralph. However, maybe Rafa isn't on anti-biotics this week, his results have been thumping victories, and I think he'll win it handy enough. It'll be more like his win against Thiem in Paris than his defeat to Nick at Wimbledon. But I hope Coric continues to make waves, he's certainly doing the right things in Basle...

Appendicitis Nadal won his last 2 matches 6-2 6-2 and 6-1 6-1. Don't think there's a whole lot wrong with him.

Good! Call Rafa ASAP and tell him to cancel his doctor's appointment since it's clearly a false diagnosis based on a tennis scoreline. Medical facts, I tell you...

Well I meant right now. Same as with mono it's intermittent so when you feel fine you can play perfectly well and vice versa. Look no further than Soderling at Bastad 2011 beating Berdych 6-0 6-1 in the semis and Ferrer 6-2 6-2 in the final and right after that had he had to retire from tennis as he could barely stand up.
