It's been a month and a week.
Just about now, Marion should have an itch....

Marion Bartoli put on her best Wimbledon whites and played at the Club Championships at the All England Club. She’s the first reigning Wimbledon champion to do so, as Alexandra Willis notes.

The 28-year-old, who has been trying her hand at commentary and other new exploits since announcing her retirement from the game in August, played alongside former British Fed Cup captain Colin Beecher in the members’ only round robin doubles event. Other participants included Anne Keothavong, Ross Hutchins, James Auckland, Chief Executive Richard Lewis and Chairman Philip Brook.

She's Back
Marion Bartoli may have walked away from professional tennis in dramatic fashion earlier this year, but she is finding it very hard to stay away. Having already signed up for next year's Hopman Cup, the Frenchwoman was recently spotted back at the site of her greatest triumph, competing in the All-England Club's annual members' tournament.

They're both essentially exhibitions, so I wouldn't read too much into it, but I am glad she's still around. I'm not sure what happened with the TV commentator job, but perhaps that's still in her future.

Lets wait and see, I have to give her 6 months, that would be right before the FO next year.

RJD, this is what I wrote back in page 3
I am giving her 4 months now, I am cutting two months from my original estimate.
She will be back early next year.

Kiu, I also thought she would be back after a good rest. But if

she is successfull in her search for fame I'm not sure. The lure

of the spotlight can be quite strong.

It's becoming increasingly clear that Bartoli doesn't know what she wants to do. Her father played such a dominant role in her life -- virtually a singular presence -- but then she jettisoned him before sinking the rest of her career. Once she won Wimbledon, she could finally tick that box ... but then what? She has seemed desperate, unfocussed, and almost panicked ever since.

Probably the best thing she could do is take about 6-12 months off, and give herself time to relax and decompress after so many years of daily rituals and running her body to exhaustion. A psychologist would also be in order to help her sort out everything with her father, what she has accomplished, and what she wants to do next.

I've always liked her, and wish her well.

Tented, maybe she's taking this time to check off items on her bucket list.

That's a positive take on it, but do you really think Dancing on Ice was on her bucket list? :nono

From figure skating to chocolate fashion shows, Marion Bartoli is active on all fronts in her retirement. The Wimbledon champion wore a six-kilogram chocolate gown at the 19th annual Salon du Chocolat in Paris on Tuesday.

The dress was made in collaboration of chocolate maker Philippe Bernachon and designer Florencia Soerensen in Lyon. Here you can see the making of the dress. (via The Slice)

One should keep that as the last item on the bucket list as one may die doing it.
