Why every freakin time he looses does Novak has to hug the victor as if they are a Bollywood movie actress?

Speaking of Bollywood, Novak looked tired. Did he have an afternoon "massage"? :snicker

Congrats to Muzz. He completely deserves his #1 ranking. :clap And I don't want to hear any sour grapes or exceptions from knuckleheads. Novak had the easy draw again and he still comes up short. :cover

Awesome! Congrats to Andy and his long-suffering fans. So glad that Andy could pull this off, and that he did so in a way that legitimizes his year-end #1 ranking.

The expected result. 30 errors for Djokovic and 15 for Murray. 30 is way too many. Bring on 2017 already so Roger can mop the floor with these two.

Good contest towards the end. Djokovic did fight for it hard. Murray deserved to win. Djokovic should continue to work on his form. I can see him coming back and having a great 2017. He'll be there. I expect him to do well at Australian open. Murray should be no. 1 next year too though. But Djokovic will only look to win more and more titles. That's important for him. To stay one of the two best contenders for every slam.

Really now nobody can claim that Andy doesn't deserve his #1 ranking. All the odds were in Novak's favour tonight with the more comfortable route to the final, the head to head and the fact that Andy has never beaten him indoors, but Murray won anyway.

Djokovic may have won two slams this year to Murray's one but with the year end championship and the Olympic title to go with it evens it up somewhat.

A fitting way to cement the #1 ranking for Andy and it's easy to forget the achievement of winning the world tour finals underneath the battle for the top spot but it's another big title won for the first time on a surface where he wasn't much fancied.

Nole will struggle to get him back for a while too with Australia, Indian Wells and Miami to defend early next year while Andy is likely to pick up free points. It's fairly even throughout the clay court season before the impetus switches back to Andy to defend points from Wimbledon onwards.

Delighted :)

Wow. After so many hours spent on court, after such torture, he really deserves it. He choked a bit towards the end, but I forgive him.
He was in wall mode today and at times was crushing the ball, at least from the backhand side. Couple that with very strong and varied serving, incredible performance.

Djokovic will take his positives from the year. Two slams. 4th slam in a row was completed this year. Won his career slam with this. It was an emotional year for him. He will march forward. His fans also should be happy. Next year you guys will have your time again.

As for Murray, hats off to this guy who persevered. He proved
the world wrong. He is the best player today. This is a big day for him. He will do well next year too.

Djoker looks really out of sorts. I'm not one to write anybody off but he's gonna have to rediscover his banjo fairly soon. He's not a gimme in big matches anymore..

I just saw that Murray won - which is a shocker to me because I didn't realize Nole's game was that jacked up that he couldn't even beat Murray these days. :snicker Congrats to Andy for getting the W and #1. And he thanks Roger for being injured and not playing most of the year - especially the year end finals. Maybe if Roger had kept playing injured Andy finally could have beaten him for the first time since 2013 :lolz: - or at least broken Roger's serve. :laydownlaughing I kid, Murray fans, I kid...mostly...

Using punctuation makes me sound a lot less of a muppet at least.
