Not even watching. But yes I agree. I hate grunting no matter who it is. Murray just goes EEEEEEEEE.

Grunting is due to nerves although Roger doesn't do it much probably because of his improvement of his backhand.

So Nadal and Murray are nervous all the time? Roger hardly EVER grunts, except a tiny noise when he serves, which practically everyone does 'cos you're looking up in the sky and hitting the ball hard usually.

No I am not saying they are nervous all the time but are trying to manage their nerves at time. When your match begins a player has a tendency to be nerves. Once the match begins..not so much.. Roger is just always quiet.. it's just the way he is .. Sampras was quiet..Lendl was quiet..McEnroe and Connors grunt..Borg hardly ever..

Zeballos takes far too long to line up his shots so he hasn't a prayer if you just keep hitting hard into the corners.

That's how some clay court players have been bought up to play..try to find more time but they get lazy and don't shorten the swing..that's why they suffer so much on the faster courts.

Rafa's grunting is very annoying. Makes me cringe. :nono

I will send Toni a Facebook message to have his nephew tone it down a bit..

True. He has a nice motion for his backhand and hit a great pass to get 2 break points on Nadal's serve but most of the time he's easy to boss around the court due to his slow strokes.

Back to your point..when a player takes this much time to set up.,a legendary player like Federer or Djokovic would make them pay dearly.. Rafa isn't playing aggressively..he should be swinging for the freaking fences but instead putting the ball in play..kill this guy before his game wakes up

Watched that last game. Nice passing shot by Zeballos to get to 15-40. Then a terrible forehand error. Very nice touch at the net by Nadal on the volley and great drop shot. See, I praised Nadal again.

Absolutely. Roger would beat this guy 6-1 6-2 or thereabouts.

If I was Rafa I would move this guy and be at the net every time..

Absolutely..Rafa picks his matches when he wants to raise his game..I understand everyone can't be Zverev or Krygrios..but you have to beat the bottom feeders like they are who they are.. but what do I know I have the same amout of grand slam titles as Kieran or Berdych :snicker

Exactly what he should be doing, yup. Hit hard and deep in the corners bringing Zeballos out wide and run in to finish at the net, point after point. Wide serves with same result. Guy would win 4 games max and Nadal would be expending less unnecessary energy.

Zeballos just got broken exactly for the reasoning we been discussing..the big wind up on his fh from Rafa deep return of serve cause him an opportunity to return the ball..very sloppy match by Nadal..Toni is gonna take his azz back to the practice court for a bitchin out session..

Ended on a pretty lame error. Should be a decent final but not sure I'll be able to watch it.

Again..it was the lazy wind up by Zeballos.. hey did you see the selfie Zeballos to take with him..that's was cool..

Too bad you won't be able to see the match tomorrow..it should be the first real test by a top ten player (although Goffin is now top ten so it really is the second)for Rafa.He will be ready for Thiem..again he has the mental memory of an elephant

Rafa v Thiem will be an interesting one, maybe even tougher for Rafa in some ways, than Murray. Thiem has nothing to lose, he's young and should be hungry...

Will do my best to watch it but the missus is working so I'm minding the little guy and not really possible to watch him and tennis :( Would like to see how Nadal fares against a big hitter on clay this season. Thiem on clay is a tough match for anyone if he's serving well and not hitting too many errors. His ground strokes are massive. Has Stan's power off both wings.
