Now can she serve it out or will she do her best Maria Sharapova or Victoria Azarenka impression and serve us double faults.

Seriously, what is with all of Serena's double faults this year? I mean she must have served more double faults this year than I have seen her serve in her entire career before this year.

Agreed! Wondering if a lot of it is nerves, or has she sacrificed time working on the serve for other aspects of her game.

Could be both Calvy. It definitely doesn't look as good as it used to. She finally comes through w/ a good service game. 7-5 in the 3rd

Serena is such a nervous wreck these days. She just plays against herself. Its not about the other player, its only about her state of mind.
She needs a bigger mental dimension to her game. More spirituality if you know what I mean. Its getting ridiculous.
Get a grip Serena! :)

no, its drugs. when she serves aces she is clean and few seconds later when she serves DFs she took some substance.

Actually, I am really tired of this cat and mouse bs Patrick has added to her game. I think it is time to part ways and find someone who can give her a different mind set something a bit more aggressive.

I feel Serena is just playing not to lose these days.I agree with your post, she needs a different mind set and get back to playing aggressive tennis

The cat and mouse game is what they play between them. Now, it is catching onto
her tennis game also,

Well hopefully, Serena can do well for the rest of the season she is 11 weeks away from passing Hingis for weeks at number 1.

Serena is not in a good place at present. Needs to change her state of mind. Its not about her level of play. Its about her attitude. More stability and calmness required.

You would think the scheduling would have Serena play later being as she played the previous late night.

That scheduling is very perplexing to me, the first match of the day...

The scheduling of serena matches was dictated by espn doing a live telecast. As espn
was doing a live telecast of first semifinal and Serena's match became the first semifinal.
That's how things work.

Finally, some convincing stuff from Serena. The forehand was much better than I have seen from her in the past few months and much better serving as well.
