What I like about the Kyrgios kid is the trivial power from everywhere on the court. It looks absolutely effortless.

That's particularly nice, b/c it means that at some point later in his career he can choose to take a little off balls to decrease the UFE, and still be competitive with the top guys.

Yea, its easy to play crazy, all out tennis in the 5th set when you are 20, but its hard to mantain that when you get older and the pressure really catches up too you.

Anyway, this kid looks at the very least to have Tsonga ability. If he can just learn to construct points the right way, to work hard and to be patient, sky's the limit.

The Dimitrov-Murray match is not disappointing. Dimi might have messed up his chances getting broken serving out the 4th set. Even if it goes the distance, I feel Murray will hold up better physically.

Murray was asked if he was going to wear a morning suit or a kilt for his wedding

Muzz said he would decide on the day which one he would wear...lol!

BTW Nick is the first Aussie to reach the q/finals at the AO in 10 years, seeing it is Australia Day today.

Pleasantly surprised by Nick. I feel the draw opened up for him nicely but props to him for taking advantage of it. I actually think that for the purposes of this tournament, it's probably helpful for him that he's not winning in straight forward fashion and is having to fight mentally and physically. Since he's unlikely to win this tournament anyway, these wins will probably give him more confidence than straight sets wins would have, as he now trusts that he's fit enough to go the distance, and he's learning how to deal with these situations.

Murray-Dimitrov was great but Dimi will be kicking himself for messing up that 4th set. Looking forward to Murray vs. Nick. My one worry is that Nick won't have anything left in the tank and Murray blows by him in straightforward fashion, but I feel any other scenario will make for compelling viewing.

It has been a long time coming for a Aussie in their own GS to make a q/final
In saying that I believe Murray will win their up coming match.

That was a funny and very insightful interview from Rafael Nadal.

Here are the key points:

He said that his backhand and serve is doing well but he needs to improve his forehand a little bit more. He believes that if his forehand improves then his movement improves.

He still think that he is not the favorite because of his confidence.

He also said that he and Federer are old guys now. And even though he is old, he wants to play Tennis for a couple more years.

Finally, he believes part of the reason that Kyrgios is playing well right now is because of his big serve and he is young. He believes that because Kyrgios is young he doesn't have the pressure to do well thus he is playing well right now. However, once players and fans get to know him more, it will be harder for Kyrgios to play well and win.

I wish ESPN interview Nadal more because Nadal has a very interesting and insightful thoughts about Tennis and life.

Sometimes I wished that the spanish I learned in college was better because I agree there is a lot of substance to Nadal which doesnt always come across in his English interviews. Eg. Sharapova, I never felt there wasnt too much geniuness about her as a person, but her English is very well but all that comes out is fluff, IMO.

I agree with your thoughts regarding Rafa and his insightful thoughts on tennis and life,I have always been of the opinion,he is much more mature in his thinking than his actual age. Many years ago I read a interesting article Rafa did for a Spainish newspaper,he said tennis is a simple game, the reason he chose tennis over football,he loved the challenge, both mentally and physically,in football you are part of a team,in tennis,it's you versus you.I thought that was most profound, seeing Rafa was about 22 at that time.
