Classic match point from Ferrer on Mannarino's serve. It was a long rally, and Ferrer bullied him, and then picked him off with a winner. (And :ras: the those of you who diss him by calling him "Ferret." He's got more game and will than…well, you can imagine. The list is long.)

Newbie here to the "Ferret" moniker. I think it's clever. Even after Mannarino won a set, I doubt anyone really thought David would lose. He's fit ferret. :)

I think "Ferret" is new. And why is it clever? It's far less interesting that Farquaad. In any case, I'm sure it's only meant to be derogatory. (Look up ferrets…aside from being related to weasels, the obvious dig, they tend to sleep a lot…that wouldn't be like Ferrer. So which conclusion should we draw?) I'm not trying to give you a hard time, nehmeth, just tired of the cheap digs at David Ferrer. He's got more cojones and game than nearly everyone else on tour, as evidenced by his ranking.

Meant to be derogatory?? Nahh, you know how much I love the Ferret :snigger

Nice win from Chardy! He's been playing well the last few weeks. (I hope I picked him in my draw.)

Didn't he used to be considerably fatter 3/4/5 years ago compared to now?

Chardy chubby? I don't believe so GSM. He's one of the lesser known players I follow, because I really like his game when he plays well. Don't remember him ever being fat. Maybe when he was sporting the full beard it made him look heavier??

So what about these 'young guns':

- Damir Džumhur (21 year old Bosnian, reached the third round to face Berdych)
- 17 year old Thanasi Kokkinakis who will be destroyed by Nadal tomorrow

Any potential?

some new young guns ?..what about the 'old young guns'..they have not finished arriving yet..grigor/raonic/tomic/etc...

or maybe we should call the old young guns the 'middle aged guns' ?

That may be it. I remember, one year he had a breakthrough performace at FO (don't remember
the exact year). That was the first time I ever saw him play. Since then, he never achieved
much though.

Now, I saw him play Fed in Brisbane. I was impressed by the way he held up even though
he lost. I didn't see his AO matches.

Chardy's best win was against Del Potro here last year.

Is Berdych applying for the Argentine national team? What's up with that shirt? Also, Nadal's clothes are quite ugly in this tourney. He's also wearing the John Stockton retro super short shorts.

Broken, Berdych said that his whole outfit represents the color of his country's flag (Btw, it is hideous).

Also, Nadal's clothes is actually different this year. Usually, his clothes are neon bright colors. His short shorts actually started last year. I think Nike decided to make his clothes shorter.

some players (berdych) have no colour co-ordination at all..

he looks like he has been dressed by a slightly unaware and clueless auntie.

For the record, I LOVE what Berdych is wearing

Really?! The football referee look? OK, at least he's easy to spot. (I had a tough time with JJ and Andujar yesterday, but at least Pablo was wearing a day-glo hat.)

I love the soccer reference, that's why I am sold. These two sports are never associated with each other, just different cultures. But I am a huge fan of both. First time I am seeing someone pulling it off.

Alright, I'll go with you on it, then. After all, we embrace much bolder colors in sports than in our everyday wardrobe. (I still don't like it, but I'll try to be down with the spirit.)
