Uhm... go Tomic?

Vamos Bernie, haha. This is a tough one. I might dislike Tomic even more than rafa.

So...Is Simon playing, or not? He's on the schedule, but isabelle mentioned that he withdrew due to injury.

Llodra vs. Berrer could be fun. Two guys who like to serve and volley at every opportunity.

Being that this is the AO, and because Hewitt matches are always front page news, I'll take Seppi in 5.

Isabelle is generally accurate when it comes to all things French tennis, but the only piece of news regarding Simon's withdrawal is the one below, which states that Simon MIGHT withdraw:

My Rafa fandom aside, I find Tomic to be completely repulsive. Can't stand him.

Gotta say I agree on that one. Can't stand him either.

Yes and I do at least have respect for Ralph, even though he annoys me. I pity Tomic. He seems a product of that monster father.

Can't stand Tomic's rope-a-dope style of play mostly. Endless slicing and suddenly whacks a ball out of nowhere. Bizarre and hardly fun viewing imo.

How bad is it going to be for Bernie?

If he plays the usual slice and dice game, it's going to be a massacre. But, surprisingly, he's actually capable of letting rip and I suspect he'll do some of that, and trouble Nadal for a set or so. My prediction is: Tomic comes out playing his usual game, gets killed in the first, ups the aggression, makes it close, Nadal wins the second set anyway, and runs away with the third.

they claim the temp might be 40c 104f max today :s

and the 'extreme heat policy' might zoom into action.

Weather for Friday in Melbourne is nuts. High of 42c and dropping to only 15c. That's some range!

For those in the US, that's a range of 59 through 107.6. If it reaches 42c/107.6f they better stop play.

They didn't in Brisbane and it got to 45c I believe in the Hewitt v Nishikori match. Granted that wasn't best of 5 though. I couldn't run around in that for more than 3 mins personally.

45c/114f and they didn't stop play? That's ridiculous.

Nope. Clearly Nishikori just couldn't take the heat and I can't say I blame him. Unreal brutal conditions.

Ice packs constantly when they sat down. Both look wrecked. Wasn't allowing to start vid from a certain point but check from around 55:50 mins on when they're sitting down.
