Janowicz in trouble against the very young Aussie.

The kid is pretty good, but that forehand is too wristy...needs to learn to flatten it out a bit. He is returning amazing though...

Pospisil up a break.

And Pospisil takes the first set. Go maple leaf!

Forget Tomic…Jordan Thompson is the future of Aussie tennis. He is giving JJ a really hard time. He seems to have done his homework. And he hasn't face ONE break point on his own serve. And breaks Janowicz again! He'll mess up my draw, but you gotta love this fearless kid.

Oh, and just to point out…it's the kid's tour debut! Not Slam…tour. Can that be true? And he closes the 2nd set with an ace! Teenager with attitude (and cojones.)

Kudos to Jerzy for getting it together and pulling it off at the end. He survived because it is a slam. He remembered just in time who he was. Big kudos to the kid too. His future looks bright.

Pospisil in straight sets is very good for him. You don't want long matches here man, it is hot and only going to get hotter they say. So, old timers like Robredo and Bennettaue who had to play 5 setters to advance, I don't think they will last long.

Woke up to see Tommy Haas retired from his match. Very disappointing :( Commentator said he was clutching his shoulder. Not good after all he's been through. I hope he heals up soon and has a great year.

It was fun and weird to see Becker cheer for someone else but himself. :D

It is also weird to see Vajda play second violin. But I think this may all work out quite well.

As for this young aussie kid against Janowicz, he ran out of steam I guess (?), but he's a good mover and has a decent backhand. Not too sure about that forehand though, but I only saw a couple of games at the end of the second set.

Taped Novak last night and slept. Glad I did as they were jumping back and forth from JJ to several women's matches - including Kvitova losing to a player named KumKhum?? :cover

Novak looked a little rusty, but it was nice to see him out there hitting the ball as only he can. Becker was looking puffy and dissipated. Even after Cahill's explanations for bringing him on board, I still can't see it. :nono

Cheer up nehmeth, don't be such a downer. Becker is a cool guy  with a lot of character flaws :snigger

Not sad Denis... I just don't like the philandering jerk, and I don't see anything cool about a haggard drunk hanging over the the side of a court. :)

He's got a good draw for it. But I think you'll be in for a few rough rounds before he gets there ;)

I'll give him a chance. Haven't seen him do anything bad as a coach yet, and he is a colorful albeit annoying (at times) personality.

This is a good win for Vasek, he will meet next Ebden, who managed to survive a 5 setter, so hopefully will be more tired. Great opportunity for Vasek here, to make it to R3 and live up to his ranking.

This is the approach I am trying to take too. No need to get upset until there is a problem :s

COOL! My guys are 3 for 3 so far...

* Youzhny with an easy win.
* F3 by way of a 3rd set retirement by B-Love. Was B-Love hurt? Or, like I suspect, did he just up and quit?
* K. Anderson in 5 after being down 0-2.

Also...

What's up with Baghdatis? Istomin spanked him in 3.
Anybody see Querrey's gut? He's turning into one of those skinny fat guys.

Baggy is on a big time slide. You may have not noticed, he is now out of the top 100, he will have to battle his way back through challengers

Can't respond to this due my own internal censor... just know I chuckled all morning.
