Tommy Paul WTH!
Tommy Paul was in great shape serving at 6-5, 40-30 but Zverev storms back, taking 10 of the next 11 points to win in a TB 76(1)
Where is Taylor Fritz when you need him!
Geez Tommy serving for the 2nd set 5-3 and broken to love,!
Probably off w/ that phony GF getting blonde locks again. The US men are so unreliable. Tommy Paul like his buddy Tay is so dense, he couldn't buy tennis lessons even w/ proceeds from the NY lottery.

Paul had his chances with a player that's willing to "give it to you!" He blew it, but maybe Sascha's experience saved him for a change!:fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Please Zverev had a easy draw, Tommy should have been up 2 sets to love, lets see how Zverev's 'experience holds up' when he faces stronger competition and someone that actually has a 'brain'

i did not see the two sets so cannot really judge Paul's game. Did he choke badly? Sounds like it. He's probably not there yet at Grand Slam level.

Choked Big Time, he should have been leading 2 sets to love, then lost both sets badly in TBs.
Paul made the SFs at AO 2023 but played Novak lol!

Alcaraz breaks and will serve for the 1st set, 5-4. though he will have to wait as Djokovic leaves the court for an off court medical time out on his leg,
Novak comes back and has his left upper thigh bandaged, looks like a groin problem to me
Alcaraz serves it out with an Ace and wins it 64!

Is it like Roger's injury at the 2020 Australian Open?

Was that one due to losing a set? I'm just watching scores, but I noticed a long time break and figured Novak went off for an MTO.

Carlos down a break again. Can he get this one back? Someone who's actually watching let me know how they are both looking. How's Carlos's new serve? I see he finished the first set with an ace.

Novak went off court for a MTO for his left leg to me it looked like a groin injury, he did that just before Carlos was to serve for the 1st set at 5-4, Carlos won the 1st set 64
Carlos has broken back in the 2nd set,
Novak has to keep the points short, Carlos needs to move Novak around the court
Carlos new serve is still a work in progress it appears more smoother at times, he tends to pull his head back further

I noticed the long break before Carlos served for it. I figured Novak went off for a "cooler." I figured it was gamesmanship. Does he really look hampered?

Well he is a Drama King, as we all know even John Mac said after it happened, he dosent believe he is that injured, he cant put a lot of pressure on his left leg, he has been trying to keep the points shorter,

He is jaded, but with Novak you never know how much. As MM said, he is trying to avoid pressure on his leg, some slow motions showed he is not able for a full pain free movement.

Somehow he is hanging in there, but my feeling is this is just formality before the match is finished.

Don,
He should have got some pain killers from the doctor when he went off court, if he is in pain

Well Alaraz deserved to lose that 2nd set, his shot selection was wrong for starters, and at times he must play percentages
Novak broke him to love with some great returning and won the 2nd set 64

Novak is not looking bad at the moment. I might have misjudged him while doing the lunch.

edit: maybe Alcaraz did too.
