Mirra Andreeva 5-0 in 15 minutes against Ons Jabeur and this isnt a joke!
Mirra hands a bagel to her idol Ons! in 20 mins,!
Ons coach giving her plenty of advice in the break, Ons didnt see that steam train coming in Mirra, lets see how she responds?

16 yo Mirra Andreeva gets her first Top 10 win and destroys Ons Jabeur in 54 mins 60 62 ( her idol btw) Mirra continues to impress well done young lady!
Ons needs to take a break from tennis, she hasnt been the same player mentally or physically since Wimbledon in 2023

Woz down a break in the decider. She needs to be more aggressive and come to net. She's far too passive and it has opened the door for the youngster.

It wouldn't surprise me if we look back at the Andreeva-Jabeur match in the same light as Sampras-Wilander at the 1989 US Open.

Andreeva has arrived, and will probably win a slam within the next year.

Hold your horses the 16 yo is good for her age, she still has a way to go to win a slam, at 16 she is limited to how many tournaments she can play,. Ons was worse today on court than her loss at Wimbledon 2023, Ons needs a break from tennis, she didnt have a pre warm up before the AO and is showed big time, she is mentally and physically worn

Good win from Alycia Parks who takes out the 32 seed Leylah Fernandez, when Parks serve is 'on' hard to return, I had a good feeling she would beat Fernandez it was close, Parks winning 75 64
Parks will play Gauff next

Wow. Woz blown off the court in the decider. She ran quickly off the court after the handshake.
Is Caroline out of the AO ? :astonished-face::facepalm: Oh Good Grief, kskate2. That's three former winners ousted in the opening rounds in as many days. Awwww, tough for the tournament to loose all three let alone in the first round. It would have been huge romantic boost for the tournament, worldwide audience, if either Naomi, Angelique or Caro could have at the very least made it to the second week and maybe a shot at the title. Awwww....

This Stat!

The 16 year old Mirra Andreeva is the youngest player in history to bagel a Top Ten Seed at a major #AO
