Big comeback for Kecmanovic over Tommy Paul! Now in the 5th set & it's over! Poor Paul! IDK why Serbia hasn't won all kinds of team competitions w/ so many other good players to go along w/ Novak! So weird! :face-with-head-bandage: :astonished-face: :fearful-face:
Kecmanovic is a very good player. It's just that Paul had that match, and was the better player, until the 5th set. Serbia has 4 players in the top 52. And they have won DC and team competitions. But I'll mention that France has had up to 16 players in the top 100, and has trouble winning team competitions. It can't just be on one player.

They almost always lose doubles. You need doubles specialists to push you to victory, like in Davis Cup in many cases it comes down to doubles.

Norrie was up a couple breaks in the 2nd set TB & blew it! He allowed Ruud to come all the way back to steal that set & stay in the match! :fearful-face: :astonished-face:

Oh well I am not surprised,
Grigor Dimitrov can play great tennis, win titles, get people talking about big possibilities for him again, but in the end, you can always remember he is still Grigor Dimitrov :)

I think he has been smothered by expectations. The comparisons to Federer have fatally cemented themselves in Grigor’s head. If you watch his early matches, in the juniors, you can see all of the potential. It was right there.

He had loads of potential, maybe he should not have read what the press was saying about him and kept his head together, he has never reached his so called potential.

So far in this tournament we've had:
Mannarino saying he's helped by Tequila
Cam Norries saying how great having a drunk crowd is
Danill saying he was helped by practicing after late nights
The Party Slam!

He always had more potential and success between the sheets than between the lines..

Of course I'm glued to the tv watching Australian Open, living in NY so of course I have jet lag with the time change but here's the thing, watching the most exciting matches and having to listen to Chris Fowler talking, talking, talking through a game, any moment he can, sometimes just plain rubbish, it's sooooo annoying. Yes, I know, press the mute button but I need the noise from the first moment the ball is hit and the crowds yells, oooooh and ahhhhhhs, it's needed but not the never ending monologue about maybe something that happened thirty years ago. Perhaps he should retire or just stick to football.
