Apart from Madison Keys ( 10) v V.Azarenka (24).....
I am also interested in watching,
E. Rybakina (22) current Wimbledon champion vs D.Collins (13) R/U last year's AO.

Taylor Townsend will be busy today, her first doubles match with A.Muhammad and also her first mixed doubles match with Jamie Murray.

Wow, with the defeat of Ons the draw is quickly falling apart. I guess we will be seeing some fresh faces (at least one who will eventually play Iga in the final - lol). Just another tournament on the WTA. I am old enough to remember when it was a surprise if the top eight seeds did not make the QFs. Now you could virtually pull a name out of a hat and there is your finalist (along with Iga). I think I prefer the previous generation.....

2022 Wimbledon champion Rybakina takes the 1st set from The Banshee 62, on serve early in the 2nd set
The Banshee fights back in a close 2nd set to win 75....going three set. Quite frankly this is the best ball striking I have seen from Rybakina since Wimbledon.

I like Pera, though I think it's been a while since she's made waves. I will put loads of hopes into Coco! Has her time come?

I diidnt think Coco would not have much trouble defeating Pera, I am watching this game and Rybakina's match at present
Pera making too many UFE, fine line, being aggressive with control, than just bashing the ball at times
Coco has still not been tested as yet in my opinion

This is the best play I have seen Rybakina since she won Wimbledon in 2022, wonderful pure ball striking, that serve wining her so many free points, aggressive with control

E. Rybakina (22) d D. Collins (13) R/U last years AO, 62 57 62!

Coco having MP, in trouble closing it out with DF, over playing her BH, Pera could not convert her BP,
On her 4th MP Coco wins 63 62 over Pera, into the last 16, so many of those games were competitive, scoreline was not a true indication of the score line

Iga Swiatek handing out a bagel and a breadstick to her opponent Q C. Busca
Iga has not been tested so far, though she will be tested next against the Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, who has a big serve and game.

Big test coming for Iga in R16. We'll find out if the Wimby champ is ready to lift more hw.

I see Townsend is doing well in doubles.Hopefully that will help in her singles game. She has to play more on the tour to get used to the other players instead of only showing up at big events. She has an amazing game to watch, and hopefully she works on conditioning her body.
