Yes, you are right. He stayed calm in the 5th and was swinging freely from what I hear. There was also no drama with his family box. It seems to work better for him that way. When Tsitsipas plays fearlessly as when he just came on tour (and for the most part on clay), he is really an exciting player to watch. All this thing with his daddy throws a shadow on his game and he has become not so loved to say the least. Partly also due to feeling entitled for the trophies too. I think he should just work for it like everyone else and stay quiet and play the game as he does now.
did you forget to mention or don't want to mention about his untimely extended toilet breaks which is a form of cheating? all happens when he is losing, and he know his opponent has the momentum and he waits it out in the toilet? there is a reason everybody was onto him. wasn't his dad doing the toilet run

Sinner was not clutch at all
Just finished watching highlights of Jannik's match, the most disturbing fact was Jannik could not convert all those BPs he had? though kudos to the Young Greek for saving them.

Fact,
The 2 top seeds in each of the men's and women's events are out before the QFs of a slam the first time in Open Era history

TheSicillian,

People are now taking bets on Twitter on how many MTO's Novak will take in each match? is that even legal?
Sad state of affairs if tennis has come to this.
It is not a tear in his hamstring, he would not be able to play
It is probably a strain, though it was his decision to play
As I said previously I would never enter a tournament and tell anyone I was carrying an injury?
Though it sets up a good narrative for Novak if he loses or wins.

no but its stressed that he was in fact terrible on big points, beyond awful. that is not good going forward.
I agree with you, remember when he had MP in the SF at the USO against Alcaraz? he lost.....hopefully Cahill can help in that area

Its a pity as Sinner is one of the few who doesn't act like those self-entitled brats, yet somehow he plays bad whenever pressure is on like he just can't raise his intensity. both Rune and Alcaraz are noticeably better in that aspect.

:face-with-tears-of-joy:Betting on Mto, tennis is turning into a circus. The Atp/Wta/Itf need to get rid of mto/toilet breaks unless it is an acute injury that happens during the match. I agree if injured best not to tell everyone.

I think the ATP have changed the rule regarding toilet breaks? I will double check that to be sure.

During Sinner/Tsitipas after Sinner won the 4th they were immediately playing set 5, it was refreshing to see, it's boring having sometimes a 5-10 min break at the end of a set which happens in too many matches.

This is the new rule for both the ATP and WTA
A player is allowed one toilet break during a best of 3 set match
2 toilet breaks during a best of 5 set match
No longer than 3 mins
These breaks should be taken on a set break and should not be used for no other purpose

Looking forward to enjoying the Rublev v. Rune match. A lot will depend on whether the erratic Rublev shows up or if we get to see more of the mature consistent player of late. Rune has the skill set to challenge the latter. Hoping both of them bring their best.

Djokovic and Bautista Agut are the only guys over 30 left. Looks like Khachanov is the next oldest at 26?

Aside from my obvious prejudice, it's far from the most interesting story if Djokovic wins it again. For the US fans, there are still American men in the draw, and after tonight there will still be at least 2, since Wolf and Shelton play each other. A rising star to win makes better copy, too.

Djokovic plays an Aussie tonight. That should be a rowdy crowd. ESPN still cutting off coverage at 2am here, so I'll be interested in the report back on that match.

Well Ben Shelton is one of my new youngsters to follow so I will be interested to watch that match
Well seeing The Demon is the last Aussie standing, the crowd will of course be rowdy and on the Demon's side, also the first meeting between Novak and The Demon
For the love of tennis I hope KK is defeated, I have never been a fan:)

I agree....KK is second-to-last on my list. Djokovic v. Demon: night match, fans a bit lubricated. Craig Tiley may have trouble keeping things as genteel as he has been calling for?

I am certain the protector will be at this match tonight Demon vs Novak, maybe the "Where is Wally Group' might make an appearance as well :)

What's he going to do? Tell his own people to shut up when cheering for a homeboy? Either way I can't see tonight going well for him. If he were smart (which doesn't appear to be the case), he'd stay away or go over to MCA and camp out.

I cant see Craig Tiley camping out at MCA honestly, there is too much on the line in this match up, he will be there with bells on :)
