Nadal's through. He dropped the third set but made amends for it winning the fourth 6-1.

You can rest now, Mox.

Are Nadal and Danill in the same half of the draw? Or opposite. I have not been able to find the draw.

Solid win by Rafa! The QF match against either Zverev or Shapovalov will be the biggest match of the tournament for him!

I polished it and put it back on your doorstep. Thanks for the loan.
I second that ...thank you Ksakte,at one stage during Matteo's match I was thinking of divorcing my hubby he decided to cheer for Carlos....I left for work and gave him a lethal stare.

Nadal most likely has to get through Mannarino, AZ, Berrettini, and Medvedev to win AO

When was the last time Nadal played a major without Fed and Djoke in the draw? Never?

Nadal has never played a slam in which Federer and Djokovic are BOTH out before the tournament has started until this year's Australian Open. I am not surprised because both Federer and Djokovic rarely missed slams during their salad days.

4.5 hours for Mannarino to beat Karatsev. I doubt he will have anything left in the tank to play Rafa. So, can Dennis the Menace beat Zverev and Nadal have one less player to worry about? I wonder...or I am hoping:dance2:. Go Shapo, go!

IMO both Zverev and Shapovalov will be difficult in the QF. But I have a good feeling about Rafa in this tournament, I think he can go all the way!

Alexander Zverev: everything that can be written about this 24 year old's promise/potential/talent has been written. He's won 5 Masters titles, 2 YE ATP champs, reached 1 Major Final, and 3 Majors SF. He's probably the best player for his age not named Ivan Lendl or Andy Murray to have not yet won a Major in the Open Era. (Those two won an insane amount of big tournaments (Andy 8 Masters!!) and made 4 Major finals each before breaking through for their first Major win ).

So with him, it's just a matter of will he or won't he.
*IF* he can get through both Shapovalov and presumably Nadal I like his chances, even against Medvedev.
