I doubt it. Zverev has probably had coaching in this department... Fan gets a bit over-friendly... back off. Otherwise over-friendly fan might sue you for sexual assault 20 years down the line with hashtag of the day. #Saschatouchedmytits

:lol6: Good point. I could see it now, fan hugs Sascha and gets touchy and then tries to sue him for sexual assault. In today's society it could happen!

Why is your post so much like that of a caveman? Uninteresting, and not contributing, IMO. However, you do support my POV: treat Nadal like a caveman, and you reduce his machismo, which seems to intimidate so many men around here. #shrivelledballs

So you are OK with some jokes. Just not OK with some others. Female indignation is always righteous.

Well there's no such thing as a female sexually assaulting a male. Back in the days I had a life I wouldn't mind the occasional "assault" from a random girl at the bars/clubs. That's why I wonder if Zverev is seeing anyone or maybe plays for the other side.
Just knew that was coming.

Certainly it was unfortunate, but it was born of a display of temper on court, and that's not, in fact the only incident of it from him. He paid out pretty big fines for unsportsmanlike behavior earlier that year in AO, too. Look, I like Nalbandian, I was just saying that monfed could have used a better example for his point. You do amuse me, though. You're very forgiving of players that you like. Let's face it, however unintended, that lines person was rather badly hurt. It's on the far end of poor behavior, for consequence. Whereas, with players you don't like, your hair goes on fire every time they go to the bathroom or argue with an ump. But then you've shown before that you can embrace a double-standard.

Quite a difference methinks. The guy you're trying to defend for going for a dump before his opponent served for the match was trying his best dirty tricks to beat his opponent whereas big bad Nalby actually lost the match while he was winning. Quite a difference. His actions affected the outcome of the match but had no impact on his opponent other than he actually won lol.

I don't think that was directed at you.

The difference is your level of outrage esp. vis-a-vis the severity of the behavior, and how you don't even pretend that it only makes you upset if you don't like the player.

Honestly, he didn't even kick the stand that hard. I'd consider Ferrer hitting a ball at a crying baby worse to be honest as that was directed right at the family in question. Nalbandian had no intention of hitting anyone and it was merely unfortunate. He insulted no one and just kicked it because he wasn't happy with his play. That's a lot different than actions directed at an actual person.

^ Nalby deserved a reprimand in that match. No doubt. But Nalbandian was a sympathetic, nay tragic, character both in that match and in his entire career. His demons and personality did him in.

Not sure what he is up to now. Likely he didn't make enough to not financially need a second career. Also, something that matters to me, he was the last truly great player less than 6'' tall. Can't say that about Ferrer.

I would invite someone more impartial than yourself to watch this video and comment. While the newscast is pretty outraged in tone, and in the graphics, watch the Ferrer gesture, and then note that the newscaster does say that the ball didn't go anywhere near the child. So how did they decide that he "sent a ball flying" at the crying child?

On the other hand, that lines person was right in front of Nalbandian. My point is that you keep a very uneven "naughty" and "nice" ledger.

He hardly lashed it at them naturally enough but he hit it right up in their direction. As I said and correctly I might add, his actions were directed 100% towards a person, unlike Nalbandian's. The result of Nalbandian's actions was unfortunate but he didn't go out of his way to hurt anyone and was merely annoyed with himself. Ferrer was annoyed at the baby..and hit a ball to show his annoyance.

I was hoping for someone more impartial to comment. But did you even re-watch it? How do you know he hit it right at them? There's no telling where they are in the stands. Especially when the newscaster admits it "didn't go anywhere near" them. You've seen that gesture from a tennis player any number of times. The ball is dead, it comes back to them and they redirect up at the stands. (And get a warning for it, generally.) He didn't even whack at it, unlike what the commentary suggests. You see what you like...and you're susceptible to that hysterical commentary.

Congratulations to Giraffe! Back to back wins against members of Big Three in a tournament that is important is really a great performance.
