Fed wins the 2nd. Match is about 90 minutes long so not too bad. Hope he can win a quick 3rd here

Haha well I've always liked Cilic's game. He has a lot of it and there are a lot worse players out there to lose to. But obviously losing to a likely cheater is worse.

Going to a meeting. I'll check in this afternoon and see who wins the battle of "good hair". Haha

KS, I think Sock Puppet is going to rep our great American tennis and advance to a meeting with Sir Grigor.

Roger is just playing Betterer tennis now. Gutting it out then pulling away in the final set each time

Fed sweeps RR once again (10th time)!

Just watched the last 4 games. Don't know what happened in 1st set. But, was not broken throughout the match.

^ He did have the tougher group. Not that it matters, @Fiero425...10 years doing it is the point. And I'm sick to death of people making little of a player's accomplishments because they've judged the competition on a given day/tournament to be insufficient. (There's me defending Roger. What just happened?)

TBH, Cilic was very good in the first. Played relaxed and aggressive. I thought he'd fold in the TB, but no worries...he managed to fold, anyway.

Just saw that Roger beat Cilic in 3. At the start of the week - did anyone guess that Cilic would go 0-3 instead of Sock? Cuz I sure didn't see that coming. I didn't think he'd beat Roger but I didn't think he'd lose to Sock. Three 3-setters and he couldn't win the 3rd set in any of them. He may want to see if his mother knows any legit sports psychologist instead of home remedies for a cold...

I was just looking at the match stats and Roger's numbers are all good - only 1 break chance for Cilic but he didn't get the break. And Roger's serving numbers are a lot better for this match than the Zverev match.

Nope, Roger has said that he will not do such a thing. In fact he has said that instead of disappearing at some point instantly, he would like to gradually disappear, sort of like going through phased retirement.

I think he's in the process of doing that now. He played 12 tournaments this year. Next year I bet he drops MIami and\or Stuttgart and skip the clay season again. He might play 10 tournaments. Then in 2019 - drop it to 8 and if he doesn't make the tour finals then he makes Basel his last tournament and rides off into the sunset...

He says he wants to fade away slowly. This year he played only 12. I expect it to actually go up next year (not by much, but may be by 1 or 2). Afterwards, it will keep decreasing steadily, until finally he plays may be just 5 tourneys in his last year (Halle, Wimbledon, Cincy, USO and Basel).

His last year? He'll definitely play the AO because he's said in the past that the tourney - and Austrailia in general - has bean a lot to him (and his family) during his career. He'd probably play Dubai as well because it's been his training center\2nd home for nearly 2 decades. And he loves the IW and Shanghai events as well. So there's at least 9 that he'd probably play his last year...
