Pretty much out of nowhere our Popsicle is suddenly right back on the scene. Excellent work this week from Vasek after a really terrible few months of results on the singles side of things.

He was apparently struggling with back issues at the beginning of the year.

I think his doubles success also gave him a lot of confidence. As far as I know, him and Sock are undefeated as a team !:wow:

I don't know how those two youngsters developed that chemistry in such a short period of time to win Wimbledon...and at such young age. I mean, experience is huge in doubles, no?

I will dig into this, I am also curious, how they become partners. One of my best friends son is friend with Milos and he also knows Vasek as well (former junior player).

I do think chemistry must be key. And some balance of skill sets. Verdasco/Marrero came almost out of nowhere to win WTF dubs last year. And it should be remembered that Pospisil came into prominence originally as a doubles player, so it's not a shock that he forms part of a winning doubles team. And Sock? Who knows? Maybe his real future is in doubles.

No clue who is taling who, but let's not forget Sock was already a GS doubles champion when they teamed up, he won with Melanie Oudin a mixed GS, when he was only a teenager.

One thing amuses me, how much Raonic is disliked (or not liked). I can see already how many will root today for Vasek, I bet ninety some % of the posters will.
I can understand surely one aspect, his general style of play, he engages in rallies and gives a viewer a lot more tennis to watch than Milos does.
I am going to also root for Vasek in general, or be neutral when the 2 of them will play in the future, buty not today.
This year I want Milos to reach the WTF event, thus to end the year in the top 8 and the 200 points on the line today could be those he needs to cross the line when all is said and done.

Therefore sorry Vasek, but today I will root for Milos.

Last night when Gasquet was playing Pospisil, almost the whole attendance was rooting for the Canadian. May be it's because he spills so much emotion on the court.
Gasquet has this habit of using the same Tennis ball when he wins a point, he motioned the ball-people for the same ball, after a few games, they knew to send it back to him. But if he didn't win the point or missed the serve, he would use another ball.

Anyway. it's Canadian vs. Canadian, here is the order:

I will be there for both singles finals.

I have asked three players about the courts, they all said the courts were playing normal. Yesterday both Young and Raonic mentioned the ball tends to sail easily. Something about that Tennis ball!

Struggling to see a scenario where Milos doesn't win this. He is a very driven young man right now.

If he does win, he moves very close to Berdy in the rankings, though he has a tougher ask to defend or improve on his Canada points than Tomas.

MIlos is returning really well today, punishing Vasek's second serves, and even some firsts. And his best return gets him the first set. A screamer backhand down the line. First set to Milos, 6-1.

I hope Vasek can make it a match in the second set but he looks so gassed.

And is 6-1.
Beside being in the zone on his service games, I have never seen Milos putting in play so many ROS and they go deep either outright winners or are very difficult to handle by vasek, who send them out.
