Thiem and Lajovic won their opening matches, they teamed up to play the doubles here as well and won their 1st match.

But Fabio lost to Delbonis in 3 sets. Oh Fabio:cry:

Monaco won his 1st round easily.

I'm glad that Monaco has won his first match after to be so long out of the court and about Fog and Dolgo I'm not surprised at all, how many titles they have? they can have some inspired days and more if the opponent is not playing well but.....o_O

Not sure who this young Renzo Olivo is. I hope I get to watch some of his match with Ferrer tomorrow.

That's an upset by Lajovic. And Isner has had some good results on clay. He may now be sorry that he's not playing in Memphis, though.

Yes, I was surprised Isner didn't go to Memphis. Good win Lajovic.

After to play so many times on HC I don't think is easy to change to another different surface and I don't think clay is the easier one besides the 'torpedos serve' don't work so well in that surface like in HC

Though this was played in Italy and Brown lost the match it's the best shot of the year (until now)

Tell that to Roger, who he beat on clay in DC, and Rafa, who he almost did at RG. Whether you believe it or not, I think Isner fancies his chances on clay.

Yep, I remember that but my point is that to play the first match in different surface is not so easy. He probably will play better and better in the clay season

Yes, but everyone who decides to go for the surface change at this moment takes a risk, including Rafa. The South American swing is a time for clay-courters to shine. But it makes them go HC to clay to HC. Rafa is looking to manufacture some mojo. Isner I don't really get, since he has great results in the US. I hate to say it, because it makes me nervous, but Rafa really kind of does have to win this tournament.

Rafa 'should' win this, he left too early Melburne and started to practice on clay, I hope he will :-)2

Monaco up a break 3-1 and has double break points on Rafa's serve.

And Rafa turns it all around and gets the second set back on serve.
