watch for Rafa at Wimbledon if he sustains this style. This is a type of Rafa that could do ok there

And I think we may have found our missed connection Federberg. I agree that Novak doesn't occupy the space Rafa does in Fed's head. But you think that means it's still up to Fed. I don't. I think Fed is 37. And he's great for 37. But it's up to Novak. It's not on Fed's racket.

Novak's biggest problem might be with motivation IF Federer and Nadal aren't around asking the questions....

I doubt Rafas new game plan is to counter Djokovic.I think he wants to conserve energy.Being aggressive plays right into Djokovics handle.

Physically he might be OK, but I think mentally he might be weak

never said it was on Federer's racket. But Novak has to win that match. Against Rafa he just has to stand there until Rafa implodes. Any given Sunday if Roger is dialled in to Novak's serve it's a completely different proposition. He'll get no rhythm and have to deal with short rallies. It's a different problem

Good for Novak. Passes Pete. Stands up there with Fed and Nadal alone. Spectacular performance tonight.

I'll give you SOME of that Federberg. But that's only worked in best of 2 at the masters events. They've only played 3 or 4 grand slam matches in 6 years. But you have to go back to 2012 Wimbledon for Fed's last grand slam win.

yup. As I said in 2017. I would like to see Roger playing well against Novak in this incarnation. Sadly we haven't seen that yet

A hot Novak, an appearance from Fed, aging Nads, and a crop of determined nextgenners

Remember that Wimbledon in 2014 or 2015 where Fed served lights out all tourney. It was the talk of the tournament. Then he got to the final against Novak and it was Novak's serve that did the talking. Fed only got a set.

I see no value in using pre 2017 as a reference point. Anyway... it hasn't happened yet. Would be something to see

Will Fed play RG? I believe it's on the schedule... but I reckon it's a fluid decision right up until the draw.
