I mean, Rafa still took it to 5 sets and was up in the 5th.... so I think you're leaving out some stuff.

look at the matches they've played in the last 6yrs mate. You'll find they didn't play too many and before 2017 Roger won the last one I believe

In IW in 2017. Later that year. Sure. Roger felt GOOD. But he still had to excise that demon at the AO.

It’s looking like Rafa may never beat Novak again off clay. It’s been half a decade now.

nope. AO17 was a seminal moment. Roger finally realised he could lose the baggage. You seem to be stuck in the era where the match up was a serious problem for Roger. It hasn't been for a while. I don't think that Roger believed he would win that match in AO17

Got to bear in mind Roger has won 5 on the spin against Rafa too TP8. It's actually 5 years since Rafa beat Roger.

I mean.... there's a very clear 5 straight wins for Rafa in 2013 and 2014. So maybe go back just 4 years with your argument. But still. Roger is always gonna have mental scar tissue against Rafa.

I feel like we're saying the same thing but you think I'm saying something completely different.

again... agree to disagree. The facts of their recent play argue against that. If anything it's the other way

Right, Years since Rafa beat Roger too! Not looking good for Nadal. Maybe he could beat Murray, lol

I think you're saying that Roger has scar tissue against Rafa, when he doesn't. I feel like you're saying that how Novak plays against Rafa has relevance when he plays against Roger. It doesn't. Match ups matter

I'm not saying how Novak plays against Rafa matters. I never meant to say that. I was always trying to say that Novak doesn't matchup against Roger as well as he does against Rafa. BUT if he does play as well as he did tonight, because of matchup Fed may have gotten sets. But he's NOT winning. And the fact that he hasn't beaten Novak in their last.....

Yeah it'd be good to see him find his mojo again. His power is off the charts.

again... there you go again. You're saying given how he played against Rafa tonight he would have won. You simply cannot say that if you truly understand matchups. That's my point
