the great Serbian slayer says this about nadal:

so if andy doesn't take the u.s. open and clay warrior does, than my little theory is upset immediately.

for the record, I was not going by the actual rankings.

my position was simple: if andy wins the u.s. open---and possibly runs down nole again in the process--- then he would be the new king of tennis for a little while.

I think Andy will take the WTF buoyed the British Crowd and Perry's Ghost.

He just have to forget about USO Trophy.

Year End #1 goes to Rafa (about 60% chance) or Nole (35%) or Andy (5%)

USO goes to Rafa or Nole or Delpotro; Need to wait for the draw.

Fed will show a decent run at USO (either QF or SF), but won't win it all.

This is what my crystal ball says. The angel that gave me the crystal ball
put the curse that the more I use it, the less reliable it will be. So, I am
using it sparingly.

now the resurgence of the clay warrior changes everything.

he is the #2 seed at the open if he wins tomorrow. that means no nole until the final.

and nole`s confidence is a little bit shaken

with the right draw, nadal, not andy, could capture the crown.

so for nadal`s cause, he needs andy to land in nole`s 1/2 and then let them go at in the semis for 4-5 hours.

I bet most experts will install nadal as the favorite if he captures cinci tomorrow.

I like del potro but you can count him out of the u.s. open as far as title goes.

surely the title has to go to one of the following now:

1. andy
2. nadal
3. nole

not sure what roger is going to do at the open. his seeding will be extremely low. he could run into a lot of hungry sharks with fresh legs.

his game is still huge as we saw last night. even with 44 unforced errors he was right there in the hunt.

the big issue with him is the back: how well will it hold up in a best of 5 sets environment in all that heat and humidity in new York. and the low seeding does not help.

Is that your ordered list. My ordered list, before seeing the draw is

1. nole (will wake up in time)
2. nadal
3. del po

As you might know, whether he is #5 or #7 does not matter as far as getting advantage
in the draw. The 5 through 8 seeds are randomly drawn to play with seeds 1 through 4
in projected quarter finals.

I doubt Fed's physical fitness in tough 5 setters. However, I don't think he will need
5 setters until he reach QF or higher and so I expect a smooth sailing for him until QF
with some 3 setters and some 4 setters.

agreed. roger could sail into the quarters but he can also be extended here and there by players.

anybody can have a hot hand for a set on hard courts.

my order remains this:

we should throw roger in the mix in case the other three falter for some reason.

1. andy
2. nadal
3. nole
4. roger

and I will also stick with one of my earlier predictions: I don't think nole makes the final this time.

he looks like a shaken man to me. I think andy can take him down again.

I have a feeling andy will be in the full flow of things at the latter stages of the event. he will play himself into the form that he needs. you know he has the return of serve to rival the best of the best. he has to serve big at the open and he has to play like he is capable of playing.

all that being said, nadal looks poised to surprise the world again at the open. and what a surprise it will be too.

he is probably going to upset my little theory and my prediction.
