It was a pretty even, and yet odd match, given that Nick was involved. Rafa should have won that match, I'd say, but he missed so many BP opportunities. When it got to the serve, Nick got him.I literally only watched the last point. What happened? A rare match of Nick's brilliance paying off? Or did Rafa go AWOL?

As has often been pointed out, Nick cares when he play the big guys. For those who think Kyrgios is an underrated talent, consider:
vs. Novak: 2-0
vs. Rafa: 3-3
vs. Roger: 1-3
He's now 6-6 vs. the three greatest players in tennis history (probably). Ironically he's 1-5 vs Andy.
There were a couple of 2nd serve aces. The one you have to see is when he served underhanded and caught Nadal far behind the baseline. I just have to laugh at the chutzpah. (That was in the 2nd, I think, which he didn't win.)I love Nick's serve. So fearless - especially the 2nd, which is sometimes Sampras-esque. Was he firing in hard 2nd serves?

He played a terrible TB in the 2nd, and missed so many opportunities in the 3rd. I'm giving this one a big "Oh, well," though. It's not like Rafa needs this title.I just realized Rafa's serve was not broken and he still lost the match....Hey
If someone reminds Nick that Stan has also won 3 Majors, he'll probably get enthusiastic for it. Plus, Stan did not look so amazing today.Nick plays Stan the Man next that is a popcorn match

I kinda love Kyrgios. Maybe Monfils with less enthusiasm, but "more bite." Sometimes he just gets them with his unpredictability. Dolgo has an illness that affects him when he travels, if that's the answer to him falling off. I doubt he'll ever get his health or ranking back up to a level to cause trouble. But, yes, another truly wacky game.Love or hate Kyrgios, he may be the most entertaining player on tour. Hopefully he can string together enough magic to win a big title or three.
He's a different player from Monfils, but I almost see him in that "anything goes" wildcard mold...but Monfils with more bite. But the ATP tour could use more unusual players (what happened to Dolgopolov, anyway?).
Stevie Johnson gave Stan a lot of trouble today. Nick could take Wawrinka, if he cares to, and he's not too hampered with knee, back and stomach issues.Stan has been playing well of late, usually after Nick takes down a top player he goes AWOL in his next match,he has the tools to defeat Stan.
