Ladies Singles Final,

Jelena Ostapenko and Amanda Anisimova
Jelena leads their H2H 1-0
The only time they have played each other was at this event in 2022 it went 3 sets
Amanda has beaten 5 top 30 players this week ( 1 top 10) and has only lost 1 set all week
Jelena just defeated 3 time defending champion Swiatek and hasnt dropped a set all week
Both players are two of the cleanest hitters on the womens tour.

Ostapenko and Anisimova final has just begun
I am hoping Amanda can win, as I have always had a 'soft spot ' for Amanda
I wonder if the 'cat will make another appearance on court? lol!
Light rain is falling early in the 1st set, hopefully it wont be long, both players are still on court under umbrella's
Play continues 2 all
Great return from Amanda and gets the break and leads 3-2
Exchange of breaks back to 3 all
Great bhand return from Amanda, Penko's first serve has left her with DFs
Amanda will serve for the 1st set 5-4
Amanda wins the 1st set 64

I must say both ladies can strike some great winners, great ball strikers of the ball
Their 2nd serves are returnable, that is when both ladies are looking to strike and return
Amanda gets the break with some great bhand returns early in the 2nd set
Osta was yelling at her team when she was broken, her coach has left her box lol! she can be quite vocal at times
Back on serve, Amanda with a poor service game. 2 all 2nd set.
Another rain delay Ugh! players are still on court under umbrella's
Match has been suspended players leaving the court, 3 games all 2nd set, with deuce on Ostapenko's serve

Play has resumed with Amanda with CH points with a wonderful lethal bhand winner
Amanda wins her 1st WTA1000 title winning 64 63 over Ostapenko!
So well deserved she has been playing great tennis all week, mentally sound and her bhand was such a weapon for her
Well done Amanda!, she will make her Top 20 debut with this title, always had the talent, so happy for her
BTW Amanda is the first American woman to win the Qatar Open since 2002, last to do it was Monica Seles (2002)

Surprise Surprise! Raducanu WC actually won a first round match, 64 62, lets not get too excited she played Maria Sakkari, who normally goes out in her first round matchers Emma will play Muchova next, also could possibly face Gauff

Kalinskaya (15) is still struggling physically, after withdrawing from the AO this year, her game has not improved, Svitolina defeated her 61 62
Donna Vekic (16) who is usually sound on hard courts was defeated by Kenin, who on her day can be tough 75 63.

Rainy day in Dubai led to many delays. They used all the courts today and still had to carry over a few matches for tomorrow.
Coco loses early again to Kessler in straights. Her game is all over the place.

Indeed she did in a very demanding way - Clara in the quarters and still a game to play today - doubles. Also back on top of the ace list with 119 aces so things looks quite good for her
