I found Medvedev, a picture of Medvedev today on social media, he has become a dad for the second time, reason for his delay coming to the AO.

I found a surprising stat: In 17 match-ups between Ferrer and Federer (all won by Fed), they never met in Grand Slam tournament. Weird.

Gael Monfils, 38, makes history as the oldest tour level champion since Ken Rosewall 43, won Hong Kong in 1977.
Momfils d Zizou Bergs 63 64 to win Auckland title. It was Monfils 13th career title.
Dedicates his win to his young daughter Skai!

FAA won his 6th ATP title and his first title outdoors defeating Seb Korda in the mens final at the Adelaide International 63 36 61, not a bad effort from Korda who played his first tournament since coming back from elbow surgery late last year.

Daniil Medvedev stated he wont be playing any more lead up tournaments for the Australian Open, preferring to spend more time with his family, Daniil has a new daughter named Victoria which is very appropriate for playing in Australia.

I'm starting to get the sense that the end might not be far off for Daniil. I'm not predicting he'll retire at any point soon, but wouldn't be surprised if he's out of tennis by, say, two years from now. Meaning, I wouldn't be surprised if some variation of the following occurs:

Focused on family and just not feeling it, Daniil has his worst season since 2018, drops out of top 10. Re-evaluates, gives it another go in 2026, but just can't find his form--or at least drive--of 2018-23. Retires in 2027 or 2028.

Of course there's the chance that family life drives him nuts and he re-focuses on tennis, re-finding his form and playing for another 5 years. But I'm leaning towards the above (in some form or fashion) as more likely.

I just wanted to share that a few days ago I wasted about two hours watching silly ATP quizzes of players - stuff like, "Player most likely to..." or history stuff like "Name every Tour Finals winner" (p.s. Rafa was the only one who got everyone one). Anyhow, Felix Auger-Aliassime was in a lot of them and I must say, he is such a great kid - very thoughtful, intelligent, and without the bravado of some/most of the other players. He knew a lot about tennis history, and was considered to be the guy on tour that would be an artist (he is a pianist).

It also fits with my view that he doesn't quite have the killer instinct, which may be holding him back. But it did reinvigorate my liking of this kid - I really hope he can surprise and take it to the next level, or at least have a successful career and snag a Masters or two.

Well, he is young, does what he loves and makes millions of dollars out of it. This is already a successful career. Of course I know what you mean, but the fact that he is smart and able to contemplate other aspects of life is exactly the factor which will allow him to fully appreciate the success he already has. Some mindless monomaniacal egoistic would surely equate top 10 career to failure...

You might remember the debacle with Draper. There he showed a ton of character.

The only thing I don't get is that how the hell he has a two handed back hand and a douch like Tsitsipas has a one handed one... That's an imbalance in the force that is almost impossible to explain.

He played a great match against Fokina. Just couldn't close it...to bad. Fokina is a baby. I saw it with Spanish commentating and didn't get why he asked for the supervisor in the 5th set. But a disgrace they had to play so late in the night.
And just realized from Instagram that them changing courts was because of the noise from the spectators at the match on another court.

Sorry, was it Fokina or FAA that called for the supervisor?
