Ons Jabeur has decided she will miss Paris Olympics, consulting with her medical team, we have decided that the quick change of surface and the body's adaptation required would put my knee at risk and jeopardize the rest of my season
Seems like a handful of players opting out of the Games. Makes for some interesting draws when they are created.

The main factor is the short turnaround from grass to clay, players seem not to want to participate, still Olympics only come around every 4 years, from what I have read players that have played at the Olympics have always regarded it as a great experience I went to the Sydney Olympics in 2000 really enjoyed the experience

Which is why I don't understand having it on the dirt. Because of the time of year the games are held, they should always be on HC. It's after Wimbo and before the USO.
Well there has been much debate that the Olympics for tennis and also they year ending ATP finals, should have a different surface than just HC, I can see both points of view,

I don't take issue w/ revolving surfaces for the ATP finals. It is the last tourney of the year and so no need to adjust to another condition or surface. I know there are Davis Cup matches, but that's usually played on indoor HC which will be similar to year end finals.

I think this year for most athletes who want to compete in the Games is very difficult. Clay to Grass back to Clay and then a week later onto the N.A. HC

I think we will see more tennis players opting out for the reason of the short turnaround from grass back to clay

Well what to say - Caroline is far from her gameplay - a little in first set, but she had no weapons against a player like Mertens who played doubles yesterday and was used to the grass - so Caroline - more matches under your belt or you are soon away from the tennis circuit. She's VERY lucky to be in the Olympics so why didn't you stay on clay? Mertens played well today.

Hoergren,

I am hearing that Caroline will very likely receive one of the Wimbledon main draw wild cards tomorrow

I get the feeling Wimbledon in 2028 will be moved from its normal time slot. Last year's Wimbledon Championships (which has the same calendar March 1-December 31 as 2028) ended on Sunday, July 16. The LA games will begin on Friday, July 14.

Two possible solutions:

1. Move Wimbledon to the normal French Open slot (May 28-June 11, 2028) and hold the French Open in the fall like in 2020 (September 25-October 8, 2028)
2. Move Wimbledon to August 5-18, 2028, following the Olympics

The grass should suit Noskova's game with how hard she hits. I can see her making a deep run at Wimbledon, like she did at the AO earlier this year.

Russian ( neutral) woman players officially nominated for Olympics

Alexandrova, Mirra Andreeva, Kudermetova and Shnaider

NOTE: All still need to be cleared by IOC and make the ranking cut.
