The main reason Angie Kerber has never won a title at RG her shots are just too flat, she has great defence on clay which is a must, pity she only needed RG title to have a career slam as I posted Kerber will retire after the Olympics, she really never captured her former form as a player, after coming back from maternity leave. She is playing Osaka at present
I wish Osaka had to better transition game to the net, Angie with great tactics moving her forward and getting the result
Kerber 75 1st set over Osaka, Osaka looked erratic and slow to me especially in the 2nd set
Kerber d Osaka 75 63! well done Angie!

You beat me to it Hoergren I was just about to post the score on Carolines match, yep she played better as the match progressed!
Well Margaret i am always trying to "beat" you. Apart from that- this tournament is a bit of a scandal. Bad notifications no hawkeye no rules for screaming a.s.o One can see that tennis is not an important Olympic sport - or am I completely wrong?

It has become a joke, rafferty rules are in place at present at the Olympics,I wish the ITF would wake up and see it has become a farce. not fair to the players at all.Thankfully I have a tennis journalist friend covering the Olympics and he is sending me texts of withdrawals etc, apart from him, I would be in the dark as what is going on.

After a nervy start in her first round match No 1 seed put on a rout against Frenchwoman Parry 61 61
Jazz defeated Linette in SS 64 61
A bit of a surprise result as I though Andreescu on clay would defeat Vekic? not to be Vekic in SS 63 64, Bianca did have some type of injury with her hand/wrist I hope she will be okay for the upcoming HC season
Another surprise result as X.Wang defeated Schnaider (15) 63 61
Bad luck to Wozniacki lost in 3 sets to Collins 63 36 63

By accident I jumped into third set between Gauf and Vekic. Again an amateur match - again NOT the players - where a judge can't replay a point and there is no replay - why the f---k can't they play after modern rules in tennis - nah it's only me - luckily Vekic won as the best of the two -Coco had a sort of meltdown.

Hi Hoergren,

Agree what the hell is wrong with these umpires? replay the point for goodness sakes, again as I posted these Olympic Games are Rafferty Rules Disgraceful
It is the 3rd time this year Coco had this done to her, as she explained to the Supervisor to no avail!
Point being Coco has to learn to put that behind her, not the first time she has decided to take on the umpire when she thought a call was against her, ended in tears, lost her concentration, Veckic was the better player, regardless of the incident and deserved her win, Coco's fhand again was "all over the place' in the 2nd set. Brad really has to find a way to fix it, it has not got any better under his coaching!
