Recency bias? Or just a sour old cow? Rafa was generally burnt out by autumn, if we're being accurate. But since you teed this up for me, I'll remind you that Rafa won two Channel Slams, one more that Roger and Novak. And 4 US Opens. But I do love that you make memes just for me. Let's me know you care. :smooch:

Predictions for tomorrow? Mine:

Alcaraz defeats Medvedev in 5 sets.

Novak defeats Musetti in 4 sets.

Final: Alcaraz defeats Novak in 4 sets.
Predictions:
Carlos defeats Daniil in four sets
Novak defeats Lorenzo in four sets.
If anyone could be bothered we could have a poll. But I have politics to debate on social media. LOL.

Both of you have Alcaraz and Novak in the final. I'd agree with that. Both of you give Musetti a set. I'll give him 2, just for fun.

Alcaraz v. Medvedev: It was straights last year, but Medvedev played such a fine match v. Sinner, even never minding that Sinner was unwell. I think it could go 5, if Alcaraz has a let-down.

I'm going to hold off predicting the final until after the semis. Maybe even work up a poll!

Musetti has been close to knocking off Djokovic before, like at the 2021 and 2024 French Opens. I just feel like this is the day that Musetti breaks through the door and defeats Djokovic.
I'll give you this: Musetti said in his presser that he felt he'd been close before, and the difference was belief And he has beaten him. That win, and their tight ones, came on clay. But Musetti has made a great transition of his game and his one hander, and slice, to grass. If he believes enough, and maybe if Novak isn't fully there, he could pull it off. I'm happy to root for that. I like Musetti, and he's playing a really nice grass game, at the moment.

Actually Lorenzo has had a better grass court tournaments success this year then his clay tournaments,
Good results at the Boss Open and Queens, he used his variety and mix things up against Fritz, it was no use to play Fritz on the baseline he uses his flat ground strokes, etc, Lorenzo has a great bhand slice and used it against Fritz to moved forward, and it worked like a gem, when Lorenzo got his one handed bhand working just watch the 5th set, it was his best set of tennis in the whole match against Fritz, the most important thing he went 5 sets and won! in the past he has dropped his level in a 5 set match at GS

But that's what I'm saying...suddenly, Lorenzo has turned into a grass specialist. If you went by flags, you'd have thought the American over the Italian on grass, but Lorenzo has so much more variety, and he employed it so well. (I saw the conversation earlier. It is sad, but most Americans are two-dimensional. Serve big, hit big. Very little nuance.) His game has a lot of flair. And I do think the one-hander has more advantage on grass, meaning as opposed to the one-hander on other surfaces. (Also maybe indoor hards.) I don't mean that the one-hander ever really has much advantage. (Sorry @mrzz and other fans of it, out there.)

That said, I hope Musetti brings his faith and his best elegant game. He's playing the big elephant in the room. Everyone is wondering about Novak, every round. Let Musetti worry about himself, and play his game. In bocca a lupo di fare una bella figura, al meno.

I picked Novak over Lorenzo in 4 due to the way the Italian has played on grass this year. This is Wimbledon and this is his first semi here. Much as I like Musetti, he will be battling his nerves. While some people are hoping for a changing of the guard, Novak has won this tourney a few times. He is playing without pain. Looking forward to great play from both guys.

I did not pick Carlos in three sets due to the way Daniil played against the world #1 Jannik Sinner. I think the Russian is motivated to let it be known that this isn’t a 2 horse race amongst the younger generation. Carlos has a higher threshold of excellence than just about anyone out there. I don’t see Daniil stopping him.

If Musetti can neutralize Novak's serve which is has been historically good the past 8 years.. Novak's serve hits his spots very well under pressure..

Also, don't forget that Novak has not been able to get past the semifinal hump this year. He even lost to Machac, who has never been to the 2nd week at a slam, at Geneva (a 250). Musetti is a way better player than Machac. It almost feels like the Australian Open all over again. I just had a feeling it would be Sinner's time. Today could be Musetti's time.

Though if Novak wins today, I like his chances to win the final. I think he would come in more relaxed, as it would be one of the few times where he is the hunter, rather than the hunted, being the underdog and looking for revenge after losing last year's Wimbledon final.

Carlos for the life of me Stop over doing the drop shots
Meddy at present is winning the longer rallies
Carlos needs to get more 1st serves in and lift his 1st serve percentage

Daniil breaks Carlos serve at will. Alcaraz is in a fooling around mode currently.
Don,
Carlos needs more 1st serves in for starters and needs to lift his 1st set percentage also have more patience in rallies
Though I feel Meddy has to win the 1st set
