Good news from Alcaraz,
It's just a lateral sprain and he will be good for Indian Wells,

carltosalcarrazz via twitter,

I just had an MRI on my ankle after yesterdays injury. After meetings with my doctor and physiotherapist the diagnosis is a grade 11 lateral sprain. I have a sprain that will keep me out for a few days, see you in Las Vegas and Indian Wells

Breaking News!, via tennismajors/com.

Patrick Mouratoglou will become Holger Rune's full time coach., effective immediately,
" I believe Patrick is the best person to help me achieve my goals"

Hopefully this is the last coaching change for Rune this year and going forward!
All these different coaches in last months only to get back with his ex coach.

18 year old Czech player Mensik defeated the top seed Rublev in straight sets 64 76(6) QF match in Qatar into the SFs
First career top ten win
Top 100 debut
Played 3h30mins v Murray yesterday
Mensik entered this draw with the new NextGen rule that allows the best under 20 players to enter some ATP main draws directly.
Mensik said, " I choose this one because of the free iPad" :)

This is the guy I was going to point out to El Dude, to go with young Fonseca.

The future of men's tennis is in good hands with players like Mensik and Fonseca. Players like Rune and Shelton could be passed by if they aren't careful, as Fils found out today.

How about Jakub Mensik, Moxie? Just turned 18 years old last September. Two wins away from maiden ATP title!
Moxie and I were just talking about him read my post above into the SF, after defeating the Rublev in the QFs
Mensik will either play Humbert or Monfils in the SF

More background on 18yo Czech player Mansik, who revealed that Novak Djokovic gave him plenty of advice which consequently accelerated his progress.
"It was after 2022, AO finals. He knew that he was my biggest idol, so he invited me to Belgrade and then Montenegro to spend days with him".
Mansik will play Monfils in SF match in Doha

Fonze is new to me, but I noticed Mensik a bit ago. But yeah, nice to see a few other young 'uns get some notice.
I figured, given that Mensik was just outside of the top 100 earlier this week, (and inside it now, I think MM said?) that you were aware of him, and "Fonzie" if you like, was the revelation, but his name was new to me, and I did see some of the Murray match. Neverminding Fiero's anti-Murray rant after that match, the kid is good, with a great serve. And it bears mentioning that all 3 sets went to TBs...that's a lot of holding your nerve against a veteran great. I didn't see Fonseca v. Fils, but hope to see him play later.

Agree regarding Mensik, has a great serve, in his match against HD today, he had very few UFE, yes he will make his Top 100 debut

Not much talk of Alex Michelson, 19, US, but he's been making some noise, I have noticed, and he's making short work of Jordan Thompson in Los Cabos, ATM, 6-1, 4-2. Thompson just held, but it was a struggle.
