Anett Kontaveit who is playing her last tournament here at Wimbledon, forced to retire, with a back injury, in all sorts of trouble against the 32 seed Bouzkova, losing the 1st set 61 and down a break early in the 2nd set

Wasn't expecting her to post a win against Marie. She will go out on high note as she won a match in her swan song

I just hope that science works a miracle and allows Anett to come back at some point. Anett's career feels incomplete.

Andy Murray playing today, after he was pretty much done in 2019, is proof that scientific miracles can happen.

Former No 2 player Anett Kontaveit played her last singles match defeated by Bouzkova (32) 61 62
Anett is still in the mixed doubles where she will partner Ruusuvuori

I see Babs retired down 4-0 in the 2nd set. Ever since she made that proclamation that she should be considered part of the Big 4, she's done nothing to back that up. A lot of poor play and inconsistent results.
Yes..she is struggling to keep up with the so called big three of the women tour.I wonder if she is also quitting the doubles.

I remember Vekic saying that she is a mix of pova and Woz,just was wondering if it's looks or game.

Probably game. She hits hard like Pova, but not as consistent from the baseline. Has good defense for a tall player like Woz
