I really wish Carol’s post was in the reply too. It was more in response to hers in which you replied.
My point was these days there are very few umpires that over rule. That is what I said in my response, had nothing to do with umpires being human and making mistakes.

What I think Novak’s doing in the locker room.

How old was Federer again last time he held 2 match points against the 6 year younger Djokovic at Wimbledon 2019 ? Almost 38! That says a lot.
You mean the same roger who dusted rafa in semis of 19 wimbledon when he needed 5 sets vs baby rafa in 07 wimbledon finals and lost to him in 08 wimbledon? Yet in 19, a year where rafa made finals of AO, won FO, won USO, fed crushed him in sf of wimbledon. Seems to me 19 version of fed would’ve thumped 07, 08 nadal at wimbledon but 07, 08 roger couldn’t. I’d say 19 fed on grass -> 07, 08 fed on grass based on the evidence.

yeah.. i see what u r saying

Federer didn’t crush him in the semis, it was a gruelling, grinding match, so actually you just made @Front242 ’s point for him. Roger at 38 played a tough match with Rafa and two days later took Novak to 13-12 in the fifth.

You’re on a roll!

These people, i tell ya.. they act as if they are better people than djokovic. I questuon whether any of these people have the character, work ethic, integrity, discipline novak has.. their trolling is nothing more than being fanboys of fedal and hating how novak is closing in on all records… i remember some fed fans accused rafa of all sorts of things back when rafa was challenging ‘the god’ roger.. rafa was accused of cheating via getting coached by his uncle during matches (probably true), using gamesmanship by stalling points and faking injury.. he was dragged through the mud by fed fans and now rafa fans have sinked to same lows with djokovic.

now same with novak and all comes from fanboy denial… never in their wildest dreams would fedal fans ever thought novak would get to 21 and break weeks at #1.. before they attacked his game, now that they can’t, it’s that he’s a bad dude… what has djokovic done? Show some emotions on court? Lol… and refuse to take vaccine? That’s it?? They ignore all the good, focus on a few flaws and blow out of proportion. All comes down to fanboys being fanboys and projecting, probably their own flaws into djokovic.
Speaking of projecting...you act as if this all comes from some people on the internet. No one has ever questioned Novak's work ethic or discipline. But integrity and character are another question. And it's not just Fedal fans. You skipped the note that he got defaulted from the USO. How about that he wraps himself in the Serbian flag at every opportunity, yet tax shelters in Monaco? How's THAT for integrity and character? And yes, as Kieran pointed out, he lied on his immigration paperwork, then threw his agent under the bus for it. He went to an interview and photo shoot when he knew he had Covid, for which the entirety of the French press and other press called him out. Surely they're not ALL Fedal fans. (And never minding that he also went to a kids event unmasked the day prior, when he knew, at the least, that he was awaiting test results.) This morning, when ESPN was gaming the match, in the plus column for Nick was that he was more highly seen in the media. P-Mac, after expressing his surprise, then added, "well, that's a low bar." So it's not just bitter fans, to be clear. And it's not just the vaccination status.

That’s so unscientific as to be almost something Novak himself would write in a dissertation about how vaccines cause your willy to drop off. Seriously, it’s not impossible that on grass both Roger AND Rafa were better in 2007, and there are good reasons to think this, given that Roger was chasing his FIFTH in a row and Rafa was heading into his second final in a row…

Moxie and others that were online in the match

Remember the incident when both Novak and Nick stopped and looked up to the crowd, as their was a protester?
Well apparently a man held up a sign asking....Where Is Peng Shuai? the man was escorted out of the stadium from what I just heard.
He was also shouting, as it could be heard on the broadcast I was watching, from the court. And from what I saw, he was "dragged" out, not escorted. Thanks for letting us know what it was about.

He probably spend a few grand on a ticket to get in - why not spend that on a flight to China and protest there? Seriously, what’s the point of doing this at Wimbledon? He gets attention for himself and…?

It was not a grueling match at all.. i remember it clearly as i wanted rafa to win and thought he would win as rafa was playing well and superior to 07 rafa who took 07 fed to 5 sets in W finals. Roger thumped him… the set roger lost went quick, almost as if he gave it away, then he easily beat rafa in last two sets… i remember thinking ‘wtf’… that was easier than i thought fed could beat rafa. Rafa ended 19 ranked #1 and clearly superior all courter than rafa of 07, who gave fed all kinds of trouble in 07 finals.

so when front242 says ‘says a lot’, actually doesn’t. It’s like me saying 34 year old novak in 21 was crap.. yet he almost got calendar slam. Novak in 11 and 16 was more dominant but in recent years has prioritized slams. Roger in 19 focused on wimbledon and beat prime rafa easier than 07 fed beat pre-prime rafa so yeah, front lacked depth of analysis… throwing age around like that, says nothing.

It was 3 hours long. And I didn’t think Rafa played great at all, but fair play to Roger, he became the aggressor, which takes a lot out of a chap at that age..
