Just watched highlights of Kyrgios v Krajinovic and that looks hands down one of the best matches I've ever seen Kyrgios play. Genuinely thought Krajinovic might have frustrated him, made him break a racquet or two and lose the plot but he's a serious contender if he keeps playing and especially serving like that.

Agree, it is the best match I have seen Nick play for years, he was totally focused all match, he plays the Young Greek next.....interesting match for sure.

To me his serve is far better than Isner's when he's serving fast with precision like that. Completely unplayable today.

Today he played like the player that we always hope from him, (though I'll be completely honest to say I don't want to see him play like that if he gets to Rafa.) Total commitment, too. It's the consistency and fitness everyone is wondering about.

Fitness wise I know it's early in the tournament, but he already exceeded my expectations x 100 after playing a 5 setter and then dismantling Krajinovic like that earlier. Thought he might be a bit flat. They both had 5 setters before.

Well he probably realizes he has a good shot of going far given how that side of the draw disintegrated, so he better not eff it up by being an obnoxious idiot like he usually is.

I don't think Nick calculates things that way. IMO. I think he knows that Wimbledon is a good chance for him, and suddenly he's willing to focus and try. His side of the draw didn't "disintegrate." He still has to play Tsitsipas on Sat. Popcorn match, for sure.

My only concern with Nick K is can he keep his focus up? his first match it went to 5 sets, he was abusive, then today's match it was a compete turn around and it was the best match focus wise I have seen him play in years.
NickK if he has a chance to upset The Young Greek will have to play like he did today, if not he will lose.
Nick K has been fined $14,500 AUD fine for his antics in his first round match against Paul Jubb, including spitting towards a spectator and arguing with line judges.

I still can't understand how he wasn't kicked out the tournament for the spitting incident. If it was a random unknown player they would be disqualified instantly... But because Nick is entertaining & gets attention on tennis they give him a free pass.

Nick has always walked a 'fine line' at times in matches, over the years the amount of money he has paid out in fines, you would think at one stage he would stop and think about his actions more.Personally speaking I find spitting disgraceful,to me, a heavier punishment was warranted.

Nick when focused is a dangerous opponent for anyone on grass. He knows he has chances here to go deep, draw is wide open. His first test is the greek philospher, which he could pass if he keeps his cool and continues to serve great.

Hey Don, Nick is dangerous on grass, though agree with your thoughts he has to keep his focus 100% in his match against The Young Greek or else he will be defeated.
