Ok, see this is to me a typical grasscourt warmup tourney result:

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina defeats Alex De Minaur 4-6 6-4 7-5 .

Translation: No clue how to call this match on the cow pasture. Last year Alex made the SF’s here and actually won Eastbourne on grass but then crashed out on the first round of Wimbledon. But you would think his grasscourt experience would pull him past Fokina.
You're right, normally that's the case. Except we know tennis is about matchups. There are certain flashy players who could go ballistic on you and hit crazy shots like an outside-in FH winner on MP down. Foki is one of those. Without seeing the match, that one is hard to call. Similar to yesterday. I fully expected Foe to send Wawa packing, but it didn't happen and you know how flashy Stan is.

Stan is so flashy his nickname should be “Bling Bling”.

All I can say is that any player would not be happy to face Nick K in their first match at Wimbledon.I know he was up to his usual pranks during his match with The Young Greek, smashing racquets, hopefully he can continue this good form going forward in Halle

It's not like Tsitsipas is any good on grass, there is at least 20 players that can beat him now on this surface, but also no one wants to face Kyrgios in Wimbledon in early rounds. He can be hard to beat there.

If he has anything in his head right now he would recognize a possibility of going deep in Wimbledon, this year is a land of opportunity.

All you have to do is send a couple of cuties to Nick's hotel to keep him up late night partying if you want to ensure that he isn't focused. I think Nick cares about entertaining people instead of winning.

I found this article from a senior groundsman, about speed of the grass at Wimbledon year after year.

" In terms of data the speed at which the ball comes off the surface is no different now than it was many years ago. What I believe has changed is the quality of court, and that isn't a slight on those who have gone before me, but technologies improve both in grass court maintenance and tennis equipment. Players can now play from the baseline assured that the court plays consistently and there are no bad bounces and so a point can take longer compared to the days of serve and volley tennis where a point would be over more quickly".

Top 6 seeds pretty much set for Wimbledon if Nadal plays.
1.Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Ruud
4. Tsitsipas
5. Alcaraz
6. FAA

Note Berrettini, 2021 R/U needs to reach the final at Queens, to be a Top 8 seed.

Cilic is another player, I would not want to face in a 1st rd match at Wimbledon
Cilic comes back from 0-5 down in the 1st set t/break to win 76(6) over Bublik at Queens
Tight contest, Cilic wins 76(6) 75

Please...a guy like Nick ain't gonna stay with one lady too long. His mom's family is wealthy and the playboy lifestyle is too tempting.

Geez, it would be a shame if Kyrgios played Djokovic in the first round. :lol6:
