Wow I opened up a 'hornets nest' when asking Rafa fans a simple question
Why does it always revert back to Novak when he wasnt in the final at the AO2022 final or the USO final against Medvedev lol!

Yep, in a real state here! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: I'm not even a fan of the way Djokovic plays! Like Lendl back in the day, I appreciated him taking the wind out of the sails of 2 A-hole fan faves in Connors and McEnroe! Djokovic is doing me the same favor of limiting the adulation & sycophantic appreciation of Fedal! He will make their names insignificant after all's said and done IMO! The tennis Intelligentsia will look more and more foolish as Nole tops their numbers and more! :face-with-hand-over-mouth::dance2::face-with-tears-of-joy:
Well we agree on Lendl, so that’s something. But really, you know I’m trying to concentrate on watching highlights of Rafa’s stupendous, historic victory in Australia, and you keep talking. And now he’s served an ace. Championship point! The crowd are cheering. The antidote to cheating, and lying, is this great match. And I have to pause it on championship point?

Hush! He steps up. Serves a good one but Daniil gets it back. Rafa with an aggressive forehand! Daniil doesn’t see but Rafa has raced to the net. Daniil tries to get down to retrieve the volley but he’s skidding around like bambi on ice and the whole world rejoices. Fist pumps. Vamos!

Oh, I think I’ll watch that again! :yahoo::lulz1:

Enjoy! I'll head back to my cable cloud to watch that FO SF from last season! That's something I can watch over & over & it's just as historic! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Well if we are going 'tit for tat' I have already watched the final 3 times when Rafa routed your Novak in straights sets the year before...54 UFE from the world No 1 player btw.

I have no idea what you're talking about really! I must have missed it! After the YEC, I went into tennis hybernation! :face-with-tears-of-joy: :dance2::face-with-hand-over-mouth::clap::dance3:
I see 'Selective Memory Loss' a habit all men have when they are losing a argument....there are courses you can go to,to help with memory loss lol! I can always send you a copy of that final,to try and refresh memory loss.:)

I really don't know what you're talking about! In the United States, we don't get as much worldwide tennis exposure; esp. for exhibitions! Sorry!
It was a RG final? though you watched Novak last year at RG in the s/final against Rafa?

When he held serve at 4-3, I think Medvedev struggled to hold the next game? It all became a little too tense at that stage. Watching it now, I feel great sympathy and admiration for Daniil. He looks traumatised. He fought very hard at the end, exhausted, but I think he was just in awe of how Rafa dug this out. I don’t think Daniil knows what them depths are like. Novak knows, and Roger. Great players go so deep to win, and Daniil came up short. Huge disappointment for him, but I hope he learns something from this. Funny thing is, sometimes you need to win a match like this, in order to learn how to win them. He wasn’t far off it. Had he been able to hold at 5-5, who knows what that tiebreak might look like, if they even got that far?
This is the thing: there was no reason for Medvedev to look the more haggard and befuddled at the end of that match. Except, as you say, "he doesn't know what them depths are like," and I don't think most of them do. Of all of them that are hopefully going to learn something, I do have the most faith in Daniil. Mostly because he's stared it in the face, more than a few times, in important moments.

As to @MargaretMcAleer's question: absolutely the harder to watch was the AO final '22, for a Rafa fan. The way Medvedev played that first set made you feel that he always had it in his pocket. And it really wasn't over until suddenly it was. (I know that sounds like a sports cliche, but you know what I mean.)

Saying and believing were two different things, but we lived through one great comeback together.:yahoo:

You can't use that stat against Nole since there's only 1 Major on clay and 2 on HC! Try again babe!:astonished-face::facepalm::face-vomiting::rip::dance2:
What is it you don't understand about having 2 chances every year to win a HC Major vs only one chance a year to win a clay one, and still coming out better? Basic math, friend.

Miss Margaret were you listening to Moxie's beloved Rafa's Debbie downer Pat McEnroe who told the entire world that the match was OVER in the 3rd set.
