Djere was looking a bit gimpy there for a bit, but boy this is a battle. Big hold there for Djere.

But this would be like beating Putin at tiddlywinks in the Red Square. Djere has to realise that if he beats Novak he not only doesn’t get paid, he actually leaves the tennis grounds chopped up and carried out in his own tennis bags! :face-with-head-bandage:

Bit late to this with work earlier but utterly disgraceful decision about not allowing Russian and Belarusian players at Wimbledon and I mean this sincerely that I hope those who made this decision die a horrible death.

Fiero425 is going to love this:)

Andy Murray has been given a wild card into Madrid
Andy has been practicing on clay, feeling good and has decided that he wants to play competitively prior to the grass. So, he will play Madrid and possibly Rome before coming back to the UK to prepare for the grass season.

It was expected! I also expect Sir Andy to lose early! I can enjoy that at least as his sycophants cheer his return! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::shushing-face::partying-face:

Well, at least Novak didn't run out of gas in the 3rd set.

Novak survived in 3 long, grueling sets! Wow, well over 3 hours and it looked cold seeing the players' breath as the match ended! Nole won't beat anyone of substance playing like this! His countryman just gifted him this win to get out of the stadium alive! :astonished-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy::shushing-face::partying-face:

The president of the Italian Tennis Federation cleared Novak Djokovic to play in the Italian Open (Rome) despite his vaccination status.
Current entry rules for Italy require either proof of vaccination.proof of recovery from COVID infection or a negative test.
Djokovic says he has tested positive at least twice for COVID-19, last cast coming in December 2021.

After all this time, there are still other athletes who absolutely refuse to vaccinate themselves! They seem to be ready to retire before doing so! :shushing-face:

Well it is their choice after all, a lot of countries have relaxed their vaccination requirements for COVID now, most people need a negative test on entering.

Novak is gonna regret his Australian hoax for many reasons but the main one? I believe that’s why Marjan bailed on him. I read that a book will claim that it’s because they disagree on the vaccine. I don’t know if it’s that but I’d say the Australian farce hastened the gaffers exit. Marjan is a serious tennis man, he’ll be missed..

I also read a statement from Marjan saying Novak would be limited in playing tournaments in 2022, because of his vaccine issues against COVID 19

Ok enough about Djokovic, he's finished just like Federer... :rip: Let's focus on the future with Nadal and Alcaraz battling it out for the next few years... :good:

It doesn't appear that Novak regrets much! It may have something to do with growing up in a war torn country! He takes a stand, sometimes not so popular! He's probably the most misunderstood so it has & will cost him! He's willing to stand his ground! So far he's still #1 in the world w/ a possibility to hold onto it even longer than expected if events start barring the Russians and Belarusians! Needless to see the players are staying away from the topic! They don't want to seem hypocritical when they proudly compete in those "said" events like Wimbledon! :angry-face: :astonished-face::shushing-face:

I don't know if Vajda made the trip to Australia...I feel like I've heard he didn't. But no one ever seems to mention that Novak's entire team made it through customs in Australia when Novak was stopped while his visa and lack of vaccination were questioned. The fact that the rest got in implies that they were all vaccinated. Just interesting. Supposedly they also disagreed on his participating in the Olympics. Anyway, looks like he'll be cleared to play RG...and Wimbledon, unlike the Russians and Belarusians. But I don't have a strong feeling that he'll get into the US for the Open.
