It would be nice to see Team Canada take this as maybe it will jump start them into actually doing something significant next year and adding to the mix.
Quite frankly I will be surprised if they lose, they have played well all week, with Denis winning the first singles tie today, it really has given the team the positive boost they needed.

Great overhead smash from FAA to bring up BP and another great volley at the net and FAA breaks
FAA will serve for the 1st set 5-3
FAA with an Ace to seal the 1st set 6-3
Canada are just one set away from winning the DC tie

FAA had a fall at the net in his previous service game, just getting some attention on his knee, though he is still moving well, nothing to worry about.
2nd set started with AM to serve

FAA breaks he is playing ' top notch tennis' and has consolidated the break, FAA leads 3-1 2nd set
FAA for me has been the best player for Canada all tie., also stepping him to play doubles yesterday

I think they both know that if it went to doubles Thompson and Purcell are quite a formidable duo, so they know they have to really deliver in singles.

Okay AM has 3 BPs against FAA, this has kind of come from nowhere lol! lets see if FAA can escape? and hold his serve
Well done FAA found his serve when needed and survives his 3 BPS and holds serve
AM must be thinking what more can I do lol!...still he will fight to the very last point, its in his DNA
FAA leads 4-2 2nd set

The composure of FAA has been outstanding in this match today, down BPS and calmly serves his way out of trouble

FAA wins the match 63 64 and the tie for Canada to win their first ever DC trophy!
Well deserved win Canada
I know this is a team effort though the FAA to me was the outstanding player in this tie, not getting his serve broken all week

The International Tennis Integrity Agency issued sanctions to Bob Byran and Davis Cup captain Mardy Fish for breaching tennis betting sponsorship rules. Both were fined $10,000 and issued w/suspended bans of 4 months after acknowledging the promotion of a gaming operator on social media.
