The 2022 Stefen Edberg Sportsmanship Award Nominees,

Cameron Norrie, Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud, FAA, Frances Tiafoe, Grigor Dimitrov, Hubert Hurkacz, Lorenzo Musetti, Matteo Berrettini, Maxime Cressy, Rafa Nadal.

Hard for me to pick, Alcaraz, Ruud or FAA for me...

Denis needs to step it up in singles. FAA has really carried Canada. Disappointing as he seemed to have found some level of decent form this fall. His team needs to find serve consistency. He’s back to the double faults.

Denis needs a very disciplined coach like Ivan Lendll to get him to channel his talent over playing like a wildman just hoping shots fall in! :astonished-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

First singles match to start,

Denis Shapovalov vs Thanasi Kokkinakis .............first meeting
Shapovalov played a controlled first set, dialed in at present, good quality tennis and too good for Kokkinakis winning 6-2
Shapovalov served for the match 5-2 after Kokkinakis served a DF. Shapovalov with a very nervous service game, ending with a DF and was broken by Kokkinakis.
Shapovalov will again serve for the match 5-4.and much better service game and wins the 1st singles rubber 62 64
Apart from the wobble at 5-2 Denis played a controlled match ,well done.

2nd singles match is a 'must do win' for Australia or they can kiss their DC final hopes goodbye.
I was just wondering. It would have been for Australia to have him given his relatively good form most of the year.
I agree, though he and Lleyton had a disagreement last year, I dont think their problems have been resolved lol!

2nd singles match is a 'must do win' for Australia if they wan to keep their dreams alive in this tie, it wont be easy as FAA has been playing great tennis, especially indoors.

Felix Auger Aliassime vs Alex de Minaur
A great stat for FAA he has not lost serve all week

Alex is a tough out though as he gets to everything and is not someone you want to face if you are feeling pressure.

Alex has made some impact on FAA service games early in this 1st set, he is a good returner, though so far FAA has held serve, produced good serves when he had to..I expect FAA to win this match up.

It would be nice to see Team Canada take this as maybe it will jump start them into actually doing something significant next year and adding to the mix.
